I have a t-mobile galaxy s3. Anyone know if wifi-calling would still work with this? I have been researching and apparently no custom roms that I can find still support t-mobiles wifi calling. I am already rooted, removed some bloatware. only thing stopping me from running another rom is lack of tmo wifi calling :/

This rom is awesome, I just flashed it today and I was so happy to be running not only Android 4.2.2, I was running it stock! I don't think I'm ever going back to stock, unless, of course, I need to take my phone back to AT&T for some reason :)

Great review of CM10! Regarding the shooting "angle" in your new place, it does contribute a different feel to the video, though it is subtle. The shot used at your summer location was very effective at placing the viewer "in the room" with you. Shooting across your desk doesn't do that as effectively and gives the video a less "personal" feel (which may be what you're after...). I encourage you to play around with it a bit more but, by all means, go with what suits you!

I rooted and put CyanogenMod 10.1 on my s3 and I've been totally impressed and happy with it. I am quite happy with it. Fast, and it is much more similar to my Nexus 7 tablet now. Got the idea from watching this video. Thanks!

Dude, this is the info I have been waiting for. I am eligible for an upgrade but don't like any of the current options, mainly for software reasons. Galaxy S3 with stock was the closest thing to perfection that is out there. Hi, finally I solved my problem! There is an app called STewaks that I used to fix my problem. That app has two options in the power menu, these are: Ignore margin Ignore unstable power. To install Stweaks you need a kernel capable. When I had the stock ROM I used Perseus Alpha kernel, it is very easy to install of you are root and have a cutsom recovery. In fact there was another important factor,the charger, try other chargers and check if are working ok with app Galaxy Charging Current

What you need to remember is that this mod works but you will lose all of the samsung influences so for the camera, best pic, best face, buddy share, low light etc. Premium suite features including snote, svoice and basically s-anything will all be gone. Also easy access to the task manager by long press home key also gone. Many of the features that make the S3 stand out are gone. The main thing I wanted was sphere cam which works fine and the phone is stripped back and runs quick and runs fine.

Hi Marques! It would be awesome if you could show us newbies how YOU setup your GS3 from stock touchwiz to Jellybean. Especially since I use a Mac and it looks like you do too. I used to use iPhone, now I have a GSM Nexus with Jellybean but I'm thinking of getting the GS3 and wanted to see how difficult it is to do without screwing anything up. Also using this as my daily driver, for two months now and love it. For those wanting to try it out, don't forget to install the gapps.zip as well so you have your Google adopts including play store. Also, swipe keyboard will be missing. You can either pay the dollar for it at the play store, or download Google Keyboard for free. Thanks for the tip on speeding up the animations. Great video. I would keep an eye out for the notification bar in this rom. The Galaxy s3 has an amoled display, and can be subject to screen burn-in. In amoled displays, the blue pixels burn in much faster than green or red, and in cyanogenmod, the time, battery, signal, etc are displayed in blue. In touchwhiz, these are displayed in amoled-friendly gray. You can check burn in by opening the dialer and pressing *#0*# and then selecting "blue"

If you made a backup of your stock ROM before flashing CM10 just boot into recovery mode and flash the backup you made. If you didn't, you can find a stock ROM for your specific device on XDA.

You can still root it. If it has any Carrier logos anywhere on your phone. Just search on the root/rom/kernel process on your specific phone. Just go to the XDA Website and search for your phone specifically.

holding the button down will give you a list of running applications; from this point, you can swipe (left or right) to kill each and/or all apps that are running on the device. I believe you need to double press the button in order to get S Voice.

Yes, CM 10 is great. I'm using a nightly version of CM 10.1 on my "old" Galaxy S2 phone, and the Software runs better than TouchWiz, Sense and GO Launcher together ever did. I have a full Nexus experience. Google did a great job with Android Jelly Bean. Uh, I forgot to say: Your video is nice! :)

I went from the iPhone 4S to the Galaxy S4, and I don't think that I could've went to the S3 as my first android phone. The features that come with it make it a fantastic choice for a phone and the secs make it fly like a sonic jet. I've had it for about five months now, and it really has fantastic performance.

Pro Tip: In the new versions of Android (4.1.X), long press a notification to see the app it originates from. Then go to the app info for that app, and you can disable notifications for that app. Works on any app, and it works like a charm on these Air Push ads. I would however, recommend uninstalling these types of apps that use Air Push, as they're generally bad apps anyway.

try holding volume rocker downwards and holding power button at the same time and cyanogenmod is based on stock android so it doesnt have multiwindow. thats a touchwiz feature

This phone is just so perfect. My only problem is that the Titanium Grey version is exclusive to EE. That versin is so beautiful, I find it better looking than the iPhone and that means a whole lot considering the importance of design at Apple !

cyanogenmod 10 is a ROM which incorporates most (if not all) features from jellybean 4.1.1 and many more since you root the phone. but it still depends if your device is supported. check their website.

the only thing missed in this video is what you loose by not having touchwiz, like the smart stay and the much nicer Samsung camera interface and controls, and the feature to automatically dial a contact by lifting to your ear. I love CM10, but I do miss a few of those touchwiz extras.

I actually like this version of TW & how when u tap the clock & it has a shortcut to ur built in stop watch, timer etc... I can't do w/o my flash. U can side load flash but some sites force close on me on cm10. CM10 is awesome though. I used for a week, I just couldn't watch my live sports on the weekends. Cyanogen did an excellent job on this ROM though & I definitely recommend it also.

I was in Germany recently, without a data connection. Had stored the maps offline obviously. The GPS on the Galaxy S3 is fantastic. Even at high speeds on the Autobahn, the GPS on the S3 locked instantly WITHOUT a data connection. My friend's Galaxy S2 never got a lock.

He said he was getting exceptional battery life with CM10--which you should expect from your GS3 either way. I'd say it's probably a hardware problem with your battery or some other part of the phone which is causing it to go through its power so quickly. Try getting a new battery or, if that doesn't work, taking it back to the store and replacing it entirely.

Jelly Bean updates has already been rolling out, at least for Sprint. I've been using it and it's basically the same except samsung's version has touchwiz overlay, folder options, and camera just to name a few.

The only thing I have noticed that doesn't work right now is the LED notifications. I have the build from 8/27. Not sure if I am just missing it in the settings or if it's planned for the future. thats what i already did...cm10 wont be completely stable.. but will be constantly improving...if cm10 has too many bugs for you, you can just download nova launcher.. and use it on stock or stock custom rom

Motion control settings? If you mean stuff like Smart Alert, Direct Call, etc - those are not on CM. Those are specifically TouchWiz features. You can get some apps that do similar I think, but it won't be integrated into the OS like on a TW-based ROM.
