I hate it when people put their screen off timeout for like 5 or 10 minutes, never lock the phone, and just leave it on a table. And then they complain about their phones battery.

Good advice. Shutting down the radios and stopping Auto Sync helps a lot. In order to conserve battery I have configured my power management app to switch off the 3G and WiFi radios off when the screen is not in use and switch my 3G on every hour for 5 minutes in order to get updates. This works very well for me.

I use to deactive some background syncing apps. i have a SGS2 and meanwhile (it's 3.12.2013) samsung as well as google have released a ton of updates on apps, background apps, syncing apps and so on ... and they waste battery life like crazy. samsung and google offer the same when it comes to syncing (like contacts, phone settings and so on) and i noticed that only deactivating syncing doesn't do anything. you have to deactive the app that is responsible for the syncing. at least that's what i noticed.

I normally use my phone to do paperwork and pdf files on it. I travel to 3-4 different sites a day and my battery is at 30 percent right now since using it at 7am. I can say that my phone has lasted me a significant amount of time and I have a back up battery that I only only used if I'm still working after 6pm. Turning off your gps, wifi, brightness and closing any apps opened on your phone will help your battery.

Same thing I do with my Nintendo DSi. I have it on the lowest brightness level when I'm at home. But when I'm outside, I half or full depending on how sunny it is. I have had it for like 5 years now. I got it back in 2009 on July 30th, which was on my birth day. And still to this day my DSi lasts me like at least 2 full days of charge. I don't play it much. I mainly use it for some gaming, but mostly for music and pictures.

lg f3... at the end of the day (8:00p.m. for me, starts at around 7:00a.m.) i am left with 35-40ish % left, screen brightness it left at 55% with timeout of 30secs.. I play heavy games, browse internet, use 4g a lot at school and after school events... never worry about a thing, can take it to a football game afterwards and still have 20% by the time its over (around 11-ishp.m.).. It's awesome! and its only 2460mAh.

there's also an app with this, my LG f3 runs for 22 hours+ with comodo battery saver, works everytime, even my classmates are complaining about battery issues on their Iphones, I told them to try that app out, but I don't really know if it's available on apple, but, yeah, you can use this and the app will tell you how many hours it can last, the save modes, errors on battery charging, everything. Hope that this helps too.

Airplane mode when the phone is not used saves lots of battery
@flameshana9
@flameshana9 5 жыл бұрын
Only if your phone has a problem to begin with. Leave everything on overnight and check the idle usage per hour the next morning. Then the next night switch to airplane mode. If you see a drastic reduction then an app is causing an issue. Connections themselves are efficient and not the cause of a drain over 1% an hour when idle.

If you are for sure not doing anything then put your phone in airplane mode. Cell standby is what uses the most battery and this makes a drastic difference.

I have posted some more tips below. 1.Do not charge your mobile until the battery goes completely down. 2.Do not over charge the battery (Point 1 and 2 decrease the battery life and you can also see your battery bulging) 3.Use battery saver apps like 'Juice defender' or 'Easy Battery Saver' which is available for free in market. 4.Do not use live wallpapers. 5.Use vibration mode only when it is completely necessary. 6.Lock the phone right after your use. 7.Keep the data mode turned off.

Actually, grey backgrounds *do* help a little bit- obviously not as much as black backgrounds, but when displaying grey, some pixels are white while others are black. So it does indeed save a little battery to use a grey background, but obviously, if you are wanting to save battery, black would be better.

WIndows phone also has live tiles which is the Windows phone equvalent to Widgets so you can get some that show battery life.

Low signal is a MAJOR battery killer, I'm looking into getting a repeater for the home they're about $100 -$150 one time price no monthly fees. I charge m phone every night and I make sure that all my backups and scans happen when I'm asleep and the phone is charging. Turn off wifi when you're not using it, otherwise it keeps checking or pinging for a network constantly!

Just started watching your videos and gotta say that I subscribed to you faster than I have for almost any other youtuber anyways, one tip i have is to close out any programs/applications that you arent using. For example, on an iPhone, you can double press the home button and the multitasking bar pops up. Press and hold the icon and it should go into wiggle mode to where you can close out apps. I'm sure there is an equivalent for android devices as well! Keep the videos coming!!!

Also don't use an autokilling app killer. I use Advanced task killer with auto kill switched OFF. Security on low and set it to ignore processes that you know to be persistent and required, otherwise you're wasting CPU power shutting them just to have them reopen again. Pop the widget on your home screen and tap it to kill all apps whenever you're on that screen, makes much more sense and becomes second nature!

For android phones, best app to check what wakelocks your kernels cause is betterbatterystats. Disable sync, use Greenify (pro) to hibernate the apps you want once your screen is turned off, so, get some app to change your 3G/Wifi connectivity on screen off like GreenPower and you're good to go. Also, if you're on a quadcore device, limiting your CPU to 1000MHz for regular use is enough. :D peace

If you're home for the night and your computer is on, as mine is. At home if I'm awake my laptop is on. Can your computer tell you if you have a phone call and who it's from? That way you can just turn off your phone. Or is that a non-issue because even though your phone is off there are still things draining your battery? Why can't you just power down stuff you don't need if you're home and don't need running all the time. Kinda like what the astronauts did in Appolo 11 in the movie.

On my old phone I used an app called Juice Defender. It has a free version and it doesn't require root. Don't expect wonders but it does a pretty good job of killing background processes while your screen is off. Everything is customizable as well. For instance you can set it to turn on your mobile data for just a short while every half an hour so you can receive massages and notifications. Then it turns it off again. It did help me conserve battery life an I would recommend it. I recently got the Idol 3 and thankfully battery life is pretty good and I don't have to worry about it so I don't use the app anymore.

I have an iPhone 4s and love the phone but the battery life could be better. On a normal day i can make it with about 20% left but if i am texting heavily i need at least two battery lifes and sometimes a third. I cant wait to upgrade to a 5s or S4 to get better battery!

Undervolt and drop the clock speed.. Not so simple, but it makes a huge difference! I get two days of normal usage now, and around 12 hours heavy use. Galaxy s3 on CM10.2 with googymax kernel :)

ever since MKBHD said use black wallpapers people have told me to set a black wallpaper (which I already have so it does me no good) but even after I tell them that I don't stay on the home screen for more than 10 seconds every time I use it they still tell me to set it as a black one, and live by it. plus not everyone has the type of screen where a black wallpaper even matters

+Radio Symmetry like i said. I'm usually never on my home screen for more than 10-15 seconds at a time and yes it is LCD that's why I said I wouldn't even benefit from having a different wallpaper

I was scanning ebay and there are high capacity batteries for the S3. Also, they come with new backs to get even bigger batteries in them.

Mega Dittos, man! Straight talk, to-the-point and totally PROFESSIONAL. I received a "Visual-Land 7-inch, dual-core android tablet" for Christmas. I L-O-V-E this device - it beats the snot out of using my cellphone for "Angry Birds - Star Wars" plus when it goes to 'sleep' the WiFi automatically shuts down. Can you recommend ( in your opinion ) an 'AntiVirus' app? I've used AVG on my cell except after the 30-day free trail, the app 'drops' many needed features. I am using "ZONER" on my cell now as it allows you to block calls from numbers not in my cell. Thanks4Being!

I use the Pocket app on my Android with the black background to read webpages I'd otherwise be using wi-fi for, allowing me to save a bit on display usage and radio. I have a custom shortcut to manual brightness on my Android dock actually. And yeah stuff like Maps can be a killer, I rather get lost sometimes.

What always helps me is turning off 4G. Only using it when i need it and to me that saves a ton of battery on my S3. The black background does help but as a photography geek that is hard to do! lol Question Marques how do you control the CPU on an S3? Or maybe what i should be asking is how do I keep those apps from working in the background? I shut them down and they always pop up back sucking up juice. Thank you!

iPhone 5c. The battery will DRAIN if I turn the brightness up just a little. About 5% per 5-10 mins. It's ridiculous. So I turn the wifi off if I'm not using it

Hey *****! I have question: I just bought a new Z2 and when I unboxed it I started using it right away. It was just after that I saw in the manual that it is recommended that I charge it to 100 % before starting using the device. So did I f up the battery or not? How much difference is there?
@deafyboy86
@deafyboy86 10 жыл бұрын
You'll be fine most of the time, but give the battery a couple of cycles at least, it definitely helps to settle it, so charging to 100% then running it down till the phone turns off, and repeat a few times, helps for battery longevity.

@@deafyboy86 That doesn't apply to the type of batteries we have in phones now. In fact it's the opposite. They shouldn't be drained all the way, nor should they be kept at 100% for a long time.
@deafyboy86
@deafyboy86 5 жыл бұрын
@@flameshana9 That's not what I said, it's a good idea to put the battery through a complete cycle on the first couple uses. Besides, with Lithium celled batteries, it makes no odds to whether you do or don't drain it the whole way, they're rated for cycles, so say you only drain it to 50% every day, you only use half a cycle per battery use so by all technicalities you might get a slightly extended life span. But also, completing a few complete cycles allows the device to gain an accurate measurement on battery capacity, keeps the battery monitor in check as well, allows everything to settle.

i am using moto g 1st gen and its been 2 yrs after os update to 5.0.1 battery life decreased , and in past 2 yrs i never used cleaning ram app to save battery but now i have to use , i have tried almost all of them but trust me if u use SHUT APP its work just fine and able free my ram which i get about 129 mb with out using shut app but after using shut app the average free ram was about 290 mb.. now i am able to drag my phone for 5 - 8 max.. 2. i dont use 3g as i consume more battery so i always depend on wifi... which help to increase my battery life easily ... 3. i generally use single sim reduce the impact caused by 2 sim cards.. by the way thanks for that 3 battery myth video ... i had one myth that was overcharging thing....
