The tired walk animation and background brought back memories of returning home after a long day at work. It is fun to see how expressive you can capture just in the way you animate the walk.

I think this is a really great animation exercise, and hearing your thoughts throughout working on them was really insightful. if i had to suggest one main thing that could help improve all of them, it would be to sketch out and imply a ribcage and lower torso in your character. not that the design of the finished drawings should be less simple, but thinking about how the top and bottom half of the body move can really change the mood of a walk cycle (and any posing really), rather than just placing it in a way that facilitates joining the head, arms and legs. With this, you can consider perhaps how a character could have their shoulders really tense, or might have an exaggerated hip sway. You get to choose whether a walk is lead with the shoulders or hip, or whether both are pulled by the foot like a chain. Kind of like how you puffed out the chest on the happy walk and hunched over the tired walk; i think these touches work effectively, and seeing something like that added to the angry walk - like a more arched upper back - or a more extreme fluctuating curve on the sneak would really elevate them. With the tired and happy walk, thinking specifically about the upper and lower halves of the body could lead you to trying out things like animating the ribcage in a floatier/driftier way for the happy walk, or keeping the hips of the tired character rock solid and move in more jerky, slowly inching movements. Either way, great video, and seeing someone tackle a task like this is really inspiring!

Might be a dumb question, but how do you use the fill tool across layers? For example, you filled in the arm with colour using the body on a separate layer to complete the shape. did you just draw an arbitrary line on the arm layer and put it under the body, but what about the arm in front of the body? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to learn Animate
