Look at the last 5 years alone, covid massively hindred development process. Working from home is 100x harder and slower than the office, since GTA 6 started full development after RDR 2 released, maybe 4 of the last 6 years have been uninterrupted development, 2018 - 2019 in office, 2020 - 2022 working from home, 2022 - 2024 a mix of both home and office. Not hard to piece together that development might be falling behind regular schedule.

@@Nitroh- Covid no doubt did something to that, for sure. But all the other things are just speculations. Expecially that RDR2 is technically GTA 6 base, means that they worked on both the same time, meaning it was already there in the time frame of RDR2 development, just with less resources then after releases. But also there is the GTA 6 content testing in GTA Online they do for many years now, which is also a part of GTA 6 development. Besides of all of that, it's still a very bad thing, what ever the reason is for this, if it is as you say. There are people born in that time frame who only know about one GTA in they whole life time that came out before they were born and when GTA 6 comes out as delayed, they already out of school 💀 Basically R* missed a whole generation of people with that time gap. Also home office isn't something new in the gaming industry. The only difference is that they had to do it a longer period of time. Also considering that according to those rumors, that there was a too ambitious project that they have to reset, downgrade in order to make GTA 6, shows also bad project managment. How many years do they games now? Don't do they know how much time and resources they have? In the past they showed that they were totally aware of all the limitations and now they don't? So they wasted a lot of years and money and then instead worked on RDR2? That's not only harmful for the release window, this is also harmful for they whole business. They should have better project planning. But before someone says, Yea i know game development is hard and can be very unpredicting, but wasted so many years is not very professional.

On one hand I hope it doesn't get delayed (unless it's absolutely necessary) but on the other hand it does makes sense in a business standpoint, one to fix things, but two Hanger 13 is also learned by Take 2, so IF Mafia: The Old Country does release in 2025, it gives it more breathing room, because let's be honest, it would absolutely be overshadowed by GTA 6, and they still want Mafia: TOC to sell well

To clarify what Jason Schreier said on Twitter: “I want to be very clear: Six staff told me they weren't *informed* of a delay. For all I know, Rockstar's executive team could have decided months ago to delay GTA VI without telling the company. But the lack of internal announcement suggests that the Twitter rumor was nonsense.” I think the “nonsense” claim is a bit harsh given we have numerous sources indicating low confidence in hitting 2025. Given every recent R* game has been delayed it’s almost certain that 6 will see a 6 to 9 month delay. Not only is the game huge but they have to somehow get it to work on the Series S unless they do a BG3 and skip the S or a BMW and delay the X Box release entirely.

As of right now, in this exact day, the game has only been internally delayed once. While it being publicly known, not delayed at all. We were never supposed to know that the game was set to release early 2025. However, thanks to smart people that know numbers, we knew that the game was targeting an early to mid 2025, but not publicly known. Last earnings call, game was set for a Calander Fall 2025. So that is where the game stands now. Fall 2025. We now have to wait hopefully for their next earnings call, and that's where we will get an update. Of course, expect delays. It's Rockstar Games. They are the best at delaying, but also delivering good games. Whether Liam is wrong or not, leave them alone. At this point we know almost nothing. All we can do is be patient and wait for either Take2 to say something, or more promising Rockstar Games later this year hopefully

Whenever info like this surfaces, I always assume delays are certain. I would rather be prepared in advance for bad news than be under the assumption the game is set on a specific date and then disappointed when it doesn't arrive. It is what it is, life goes on. We get GTA 6 when we get GTA 6, I would rather a finished and working game than it get rushed out to meet deadlines.

What forced them to announce 2017 on the RDR 2 trailer? Same thing applies, they fall behind for numerous reasons, the date they put on the innitial reveal trailer is never accurate and shouldn't be taken as such.
