Passed Sec+ the PBQs were helpful and somewhat similar to the test. Just a tip for the exam find PBQs related to the objective like given a scenario install/configure/implement. Focus in the basics since the exam is time constrained.

Thanks for actually having good videos bro. Some people out there going through these questions are a net negative to study. They go over them with their flawed logic, making you question yourself. Then in the end they were wrong and you were right and you've now learnt something wrong you have to forget. Awful Respect king

For question 2, I think the category should be managerial, since it's coming up with a policy. I would also argue it's a corrective type since the CEO is essentially 'patching' the policy And question 3, in the 701 CompTIA official study guide, physical control is a category, and it should be a prevention type

I was confused too. I've been studying using Professer Messer and thought the categories were Technical, Managerial, Operational, Physical. Also thought that the type for that third question could've been preventative.

@@greertenery8415 I think I know the answer for this. It is because the 601 exam classify physical control as type but they changed it to categories in 701.

Thank you for your effort. In the third scenario, shouldn't the Control Type be Preventive instead of physical? Because Physical was not mentioned as one of the control types such as directive, preventive , etc .

Physical controls is listed as a control category and not a control type in the resources I've used to study.. I get why it was the answer but there's a decent amount of confusion and inconsistency there

Short and Sweet "Patch Notes" for folks: SYO-701 changes 2 things from SYO-601: 1. "Physical" is now a Category (no longer a type) 2. New type added: "Directive"

Creating an AUP is managerial not operational; the CREATION of the policy has nothing to do with daily operational activities since it's overarching for a company. If it was to enforce/implement an EXISTING AUP as the solution, that would be a different story for it to be operational. I think that scenario 2 has been overlooked causing unnecessary confusion. For both 601 & 701 versions.

Huh, I thought "yet" in question 2 signaled a compensating control. Like "we SHOULD have a content filtering SWG, but until that happens, can we at least ask them to stop?" There's no SWG in the remediations though so I guess not.

How is physical a control type, when physical is a control category according to Comptia?? And how is install a keypad entry not physical when it comes to category?? I’m literally looking at the 701 objectives as I type this…physical is a category not a type

This is the PBQ for SY0-601, for SY0-701 the answers would probably be different. For example, Control Type in scenario 3 cannot be physical, because in the new version it no longer counts as such.

are you studying for the sec+ 701?. This is an example of a 601 pbq i think, in the 601 objective list it states 'physical' as a control type instead of a category. i would recommend practicing sec+701 practice questions instead since they align more with the current objectives
