I think this stage is essentially Blaze's world's counterpart to Angel Island, except Blaze doesn't reside there to guard the Sol Emeralds and the Jewel Scepter, the latter of which is her world's counterpart to the Master Emerald.

Also, this stage is easy to play through as Blaze than Sonic as fire is the main obstacle of the stage, thus, due to her being pyrokinetic, she can cause them to die down whenever she approaches them, allowing her to pass through them unharmed.
