In Holland, Michigan, I was told there was no emergency housing tho I was disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, Asthma, PTSD from my husband starting drunken fights with me and our son I would have had to go into. A woman's shelter where I could only staying I did work there. I left the shelter in tears because I had no where to stay or be safe.

I wish I would have known about this while I was having to care for my Mom while she was dying of cancer. She didn't want to leave her apartment but I had to work remotely and take care of her at the same time. I got her into a wonderful apartment on section 8 that took her 2 years to get, then when she became too ill I had to give up the apartment snd move her into my apartment. Sounds like there are a lot of changes since 2014

I love animals - a very wild feral cat I took in - fast forward to today - this cat is like Lilly Labrador who passed over 6-9-21. So sad w/out my Lilly. I can tell you that it is harder to get out of Projects than it was to get in! This building was awesome ten years ago. Now they've gone to private management. We now live in filthy conditions. They're bringing in unsavory characters to rent full market. I wish I had the funds to consult you. So I'm going to have to scrub to your videos and see what I can divine myself.

On th e application for the housing authority, they ask if you've ever had a felony, and have you ever been arrested for anything other than traffic violations. Well I was wondering if someone has been arrested for delivery of a controlled substance, would the hold it against you if it was 20 years ago? I am disable, and I'm on disability. I can't afford the prices of any of the houses or apartments that are not low income. What will I do if they hold it against me, and they say I don't qualify, also, how good does your credit have to be? After all most everyone applying more than likely have some problems on their credit.

My rent and a few things I have to pay or taking up my entire Social Security check. In about six months I will have to let them know if I am going to continue to rent here. I am eligible for I believe 30% level here but they tell me there are no 30% level units available in my building. What am I supposed to do I called someone about housing vouchers and they told me that they were 100,000 people waiting for vouchers here in Texas. I have a health issue which would qualify me probably for disabled. I have never ever had to request a voucher of any kind for housing. But here I am suffering with a lot of anxiety and depression because of it. How much is your consultation and how long does that consultation last. I have phone service here at least . I have one to call tomorrow..hopefully they can help. I don't want to have to go mental just to get help...and most places around here that does the c of c are addiction centers...and so that leaves me out . Hope your feeling better

I've been on the sec8 waiting list from around 2011,nd disable from 2013,nd been homeless from 2017 ,nd though I informed sec 8 of my disability they told me that don't mean they gonna prioritize my application nd put me up to the top of the list. Nevertheless they finally approved my application nd handed me my voucher in 2021. Under HUD guidelines the landlord should only be requiring my portion of the rent as a deposit. I read that it is illegal to ask for the full amount. Who do I contact to report the landlord? Help!! I'm in a catch 22 situation I have section 8 but I'm seeking housing for a 3 bedroom due to my 15 yr old news need his own room and they state that he and my 4 yr old can room together. What? First of most of the bedrooms are small/no closet space. What in the business should a 15 yr old be with a 4 yr old? I have been seeking a house for over a yr and half and feel like I get looked over. My caseworker stated due to the housing market vouchers increased. I think mine is 1245. However, I make descent money I can pay extra out of my pocket for rent. Why does DS Hubber state I have to find something less than my voucher. It's just not right stick me in a small property within a bad neighborhood. Than if you do get approved for a property the paperwork takes so long to complete? So now the property been giving to someone else. I have a love hate relationships with section 8. I'm almost tempted to be done with them.
