Bringing the QUADRA to life from the highly anticipated video game CYBERPUNK2077 is no easy feat. Rockstar Performance Garage has been tasked with accomplishing this. But why use a mustang? The quadra most closely resembles a 1971-1974 amc javelin. The only reason I see to use a mustang over a javelin is ease of finding a car and parts

Well to answer your question there is a few things. 1. We have multiple factors when choosing the car; design, appeal, support. Design- you are correct for a certain portion of the car looking like a javelin but the front end does not nor does the back end in fact the front grill most resembles a 71-72 roadrunner while the rear end of the back glass most resembles a 67 charger but only the upper back portion. The actual rear end is from a Pantera. While even the designers say the Quadra is a homage to all old school muscle cars it’s a blend of them all and not one alone. Appeal- when it comes to an old school muscle car there’s very few that will appeal to all people the way a mustang will, Camaros and Chargers are great cars but when it comes back to design the Mustang has the fast back, with wide hips and a multilayered front that allows us to play off the lip and grille. It also has a higher belly out of all of them which still isn’t high enough. Support- in order to modernize this car we need aftermarket support again that falls back to a mustang or a camaro and the mustang fastback with a 302 is the standard in a lot of old school muscle aftermarket support. I hope this helps you understand why we chose it, one other thing the mustang vs the amc: a 71-74 amc is about a quarter of the cost of a fastback mustang they aren’t as easy or inexpensive as you may think to get. This car once we picked it up cost as much more than than a 302 mustang today, fully restored then we inserted another 2-3 values of that car into in parts and labor. It should may any winner very happy. I can appreciate your eye and noticing similarities with the amc, the more you look at the Quadra the more styles of car you will find hidden inside it! Well I we don’t agree everything we did is fully reversible to return it to a classic car if the person who wins wants that it’s why we didn’t cut the car up like most shows or builders do.

If we would have hacked the car up and done a bunch of Fiberglass work then yes we could have made it look just like it but we would have ruined the mustang. Remember we were building a car inspired by the Quadra.
