Cyberpunk 2077 in VR on Apple Vision Pro

Cruising around Night City on a bike and taking in the sights. Played via ALVR and the Luke Ross VR Mod. The video displays a slight stutter at times, but in the headset it was quite smooth.
The interesting thing is how good it looks in the Vision Pro compared to my Quest 3 which I'm able to run wired at even higher settings. The best way I can describe it is the Quest 3 looks great, but still kind of looks like a video game. On the Vision Pro, it looks more like a CGI movie.
As cool as this might look, I wouldn't recommend anyone to go through all the work to experience it, nor to run out and spend money buying lighthouses, or index controllers, etc. It's not ideal at all and still a little rough around the edges. It's extremely tough to nail the sweet spot that produces a high quality image. It is possible, but it took a lot of effort. For the overall cost of all the gear and the end result, you're much better off sticking to other VR headsets to play this game. At least for now. As VR options start to improve and become available for the Vision Pro this should certainly change. If anything, this demonstrates that the Vision Pro is a fully capable VR headset and really needs Apple to support SteamVR and motion controllers for pcvr gaming.
There's a reason why Sony is opening up the PSVR2 to pcvr games later this year and Apple should do the same. We really need to be vocal about our desire to make the Vision Pro fully compatible with PCVR games because it's an awesome headset that shouldn't be held back from greatness.

Oh definitely. I can't imagine how awesome it would have been CD Projekt Red built native VR into this game. Hoping the next version has native VR! It changes eveything. Walking around makes you feel so small within this bustling future metropolis.

@@pigeonramier6898fair but those are more proof of concept at this point. i mean true seamless ai immersion where you don't even realize it's ai. you're just exploring the game and it feels 'real' without feeling like an ai. but i get your point 100%. we haven't seen anything yet is what im saying.

I'm using my gaming PC with a RTX4090 that handes the graphics and encoding. It's being sent wirelessly to the Vision Pro via ALVR which allows you to connect to a PC.

Yes, I know. This is all about getting it to work an Apple Vision Pro. I've been into VR games/mods since the Oculus DK2.

It's pretty awesome, but it takes a lot of tweaking to get it to look and run right. It's still not worth it currently.

What "Render Resolution" do you have set in SteamVR settings on AVP? And what "Render Resolution" on Quest 3? You compare the image quality in these two VR headsets, but do not tell the most important thing - the values of the "Render Resolution" setting.

Both headsets I ran at the same Render Resolution of 150% in SteamVR. The Quest 3 overall was more refined due to using Virtual Desktop which runs better with AV1 and of course the 6e connection vs ALVR. As far as visual quality I still felt the AVP was more realistic overall. It takes so much tinkering to get it there though, where the Quest 3 was more direct and plug and play. It'll be much easier to compare once Virtual Desktop is released for AVP.

While both versions aren't as ideal as a native VR version, the LukeRoss mod with AER2.0 is pretty decent if you have a 4090.

качество или чёткость? качество лучше у шлема там мини лэд экраны у квест про. у меня на ноуте охуенный экран стоит и цветопередача идентична квесту.

It's not about determining what headset looks the best for the price. The point is the Vision Pro wasn't designed for this type of gaming and this shows it looks pretty damn good even with janky hacks/mods.
