Good commentary. People need to understand that some mods are _foundational_ and you explain it well. You're right to highlight Mod Remover as well. So many people get jammed up when they try to remove or deactivate mods after an game patch without understanding how the process really works.

To be honest, the game right now is completely playable mod-less, there is ""No NEED"" to install mods since many of the former "Must have needed mods" have been natively implemented in the game by CDPR. The only thing I would recommend is a Flashlight and Skiping Intros. The rest is purely for 2nd play thoughts.

Yeah, CDPR has done a good job at making a good a lot of mods redundant - which is what you actually love to see. But there are still a lot of QoL mods I enjoy, I’ve been spamming graphics mods into my modlist again, and then there are vehicle mods (which have me obsessed).

@@Apoqsi Indeed, but now those mods are no longer patches to fix errors, but more like additions or sweets that add a small layer for those os us who have spend hours already in the game. For a newcomer, Vanilla CP77 is an amazing experience by itself. :D

Agreed! I just have a handful of very simple mods (like being able to pet Nibbles and some clothing replacers), all of which can be easily dropped into the Archive folder, and the game is a blast. Similar to Witcher 3, and unlike anything by Bethesda, CP 2077 doesn't really need mods to be enjoyable. I may, once I'm pretty sure they're 100% done with hotfixes, install more complex mods, but... again, really not necessary.

@alexriesen6272 You can either block updates (as I covered how to do in a recent video) or you can wait for the mods to be updated. Most mods also won’t break your save when uninstalled, unless they’re “heavy.” A lot of the time, mod authors will note whether a mod is safe or not to uninstall mid-playthrough.

So, essentially, this mods are frameworks, engine modifications and script extenders to actually run mods, mod utilities and a mod loader...I usually mod RPGs, for the unofficial patches, qol and additional quests, but this time all this hassle seems unwarranted. I played the vanilla version without mods and didn't feel the need for them. Right now, with the expansion and patch 2.1 added content and improvements, this is probably one the very few RPGs that I would recommend playing without any mod for the time being.

I have tested this multiple times now and there is a mod on this list that makes going out into the sun blindingly bright and adjusts when your character is in a shaded area. I still have narrowed it down, but it is definitely one of these.

Not a single one of these mods modify lighting or anything of the sorts. In fact, none of them really do anything until you install mods that use them. Do you by chance have other mods installed already? Sounds like you have a graphics mod that modifies the eye adaptation.

At first, yes. I installed everything you said and added a bunch of other mods. Saw the issue. Did a clean reinstall, thinking it was one of the mods that I added after them. I added the mods you listed again, and still ran into the lighting issue. It's only when you go outside into the sun, if you go anywhere shaded it readjusts. But, yeah. I've now tested this 4 times and ive narrowed it down to one of the follwoing mods: Archive XL, CET, Material and Texture, Mod Settings, Native Settings, RED4ext, redmOD, redscript, Tweak XL@@Apoqsi

Again, not possible. None of these touch lighting or eye adaption. You either have a dirty install (mods left over or a modified configuration file, as modded files aren’t removed when you re-install the game) or have a mod that uses one of them to accomplish such behavior. None of these mods can cause the issue you’re describing. You listing every mod featured in the video as what you have deduced it to doesn’t help either. Now, are you install mods manually or with Vortex? I can try to help you get to the bottom of what the actual cause is.

I promise I am following the mod instructions to a T. I know modded files arent removed for a fresh uninstall, i went in and removed them after the uninstall. I download all of these manually because from what i understand vortex can run into some issues. @@Apoqsi

Maybe what you'r talking about is the autoexposure ''feature'', sadly it's implemented in the game, and there is no graphic or gameplay setting modification that can really affect that... Exept for mods of course :)

So those are only basic dependency libs... They are useless if you dont install mods that need them. They are only required if you install content adding mods that require them or if you want to make a mod yourself.

I spent a few hours yesterday and found this whole modding things insanely complicated. After beating the vanilla game I wanted to try something new. But I cant seem to figure out how to get anything running. With SO many dependencies, lacking documentation, and errors even using the vortex manager. Its just not worth the squeeze. As they say in Dragons Den. 'I'm OUT".

1.63 was easy….. 2.12 I cannot get anything to work at all. Gog does not even give me the option to enable mods And The best mods nolonger work: Infinite jump Flying cars Fall damage mitigation I have prettymuch done everything there is to do with the latest dlc…So now I am back to just killing time and having a podcast playing in another window while running around nc with no real goal in mind

Honestly, I thought about modding Cyberpunk, even downloaded and installed all of the frameworks. As I started to look through the mods and "top" mods lists, I realized that Cyberpunk is one of those rare games where I don't feel modding helps or improves the game play. Like all of the clothing mods, what's the point? You never really stare at yourself in the game. I thought about the custom cars, and most of them are just today's crap cars added to the game. Like you have a futuristic game set on an alt timeline, but nah I wanna add the Mazda RX8 to the game. None of the weapons mods are anywhere near lore accurate. All of the optimization mods, you can already do in game. All of the reshade I think just ruins the intent. All of the bug fix ones fix such a small insignificant bug that I really don't care that it exists.

Considering my title is exactly what I cover... no. The overwhelming majority of people understood the title and knew what they were clicking on. I can confirm that based on the average watch time of this video and the responses to it. And the only other reasonable conclusion you could have come to, from what I can understand, is mods to fix issues after Patch 2.1 ... but considering there aren't major issues with the game after Patch 2.1, I am not really sure how that conclusion could be made. Making poor and unclickable titles so that a handful of people don't misinterpret things isn't apart of my job.

People saying the mods are unnecessary have probably not fully experienced the right mods. Flying cars, drones, improved immersion in every way, improved rpg mechanics, better graphics, cooler animations for both meleee and guns, entirely new progression systems, etc. it’s impossible to go back to the standard version after this.

Yes, I played this game like six time. Vanilla when it came out, then achievements run, then heavily modded. Then 1.6 lightly modded, then heavily modded. Now 2.1 lightly modded, PL achievement run, then heavily modded. I may have 700h in it. It's a decent game :) I think you should at least try every game vanilla before you mod it, so you know what is vanilla and what is modded, so you can appreciate both more.

I dunno why but Virtual Atelier does not work for me... I installed the browser extension but the icon is missing and it just has "virtual atelier" written there without logo and when I click it, it wont load... All dependencies are installed soooo IDK what I did wrong but whatever...

I can never get Virtual Atelier to work, I always follow all the installation steps for both the mod and the clothes. When I log on to the computer, the online store is there, but the clothes are not.

All of my weapons had legendary Crunch mods. 2.1 Removed them all as well as really screwed up my cyber os. I'll never buy another game from them. I want someone to make a mod that adds my Crunch mods back!

Sadly saves get fucked up sometimes with new game versions. If you install CET and simple menu mod, you can give yourself the missing legendary(now category 5 ) crunch mods and apply them to your weapons.

Considering I don’t recommend paying for said mod, I can’t help much in this situation. You’ll have to ask Luke for help, as all of the mods in this video are heavily required. So if his FSR3 mod isn’t compatible, that is his problem to deal with. That being said, none of the mods here should break it as they don’t touch the graphics/renderer. Disable them one by one (ensuring you do so with requirements in mind, otherwise it will crash) and then report the issue to Luke.

Material and Texture Override itself cannot cause the game to crash at it contains no changes itself, it simply allows other mods to make changes. That being said, I’ll still try to help to find the real cause. Firstly, is your game randomly crashing, giving you an error of any kind, crashing on launch, or?

REDmod version will work 99% of the time, but some have had issues with it not working in the past. I like to minimize issues people can run into. And if you aren’t installing any other REDmods, then it also allows you to skip installing REDmod itself until you need it.

This video was made for update 2.1. Did you install mods that utilize it? It won’t load anything otherwise, as it’s just the framework required by vehicle mods. So it doesn’t add vehicles itself.

First thanks for responding, yeah, i did install ( was only to unzip archives on main folder ) all the requirements mods that come with it and even the website logo appear on pc when loading game, but when clicking to open it, its shows a message saying that wedsite can´t be found. (Something like when you try to open browser without internet connection on real life. )

If so, it sounds like to me that you installed the Browser Extension mod and the Virtual Car Dealer plugin for it, but not Virtual Car Dealer itself. For Virtual Car Dealer, you need the main file AND the Browser Extension file.

So you need Virtual Car Dealer (Main File), Virtual Car Dealer - Browser Extension (adds browser extension compatibility), and Browser Extension itself. And then one or more vehicle mods that use the Virtual Car Dealer menu. And then, of course, every other requirement covered in this video.
