I played the game twice and a half because I lost my second save (not because of the game) and I can tell you, the game wasn't amazing, wasn't a live changing experience but I can assure that the game wasn't trash, wasn't a masterpiece neither but it was great. The problem with the game is that it feels so unfinished and CDPR oversold the game saying it was going to be the second coming of Jesus and promised a lot of things that never got to the final product and if we add the incredible amount of performance problems the game had at launch and still have to this day people had every right to feel like they were scammed, I felt scammed too if I'm being honest but when I decided to ignore all of that, all the bugs, all the crashes and the performance issues and just played the game the best way I could I saw an great game that was ruined because of the poor management of the executives and felt sad about what the game could have actually been. I also need to add that I played the game on a ps4 fat, the worst platform to play it along side with Xbox one and still managed to enjoy it.

What I mean is he doesn't have to look like V. It'd be the easiest thing in the world to not look like V. This is as true as a Cyberpunk genre story can get...it's never truly perfect in the end...you're just trying to survive. "It's not about saving the world....it's about saving yourself." -Mike Pondsmith

People like laymen gaming actually said that the story doesn't make you think by asking big questions that are common in the cyberpunk universe! I had to laugh 😂😂😂 at how stupid that sounds. They don't ask you they actually pose those questions you directly through the gameplay and the choice's you can make! Point is it's a dam good story regardless of how it launched.
@thecornerho44722 жыл бұрын
@@tonytrident8874 I feel like people missed the whole point of the cyberpunk genre in general its supposed to be ambiguous the world building in general is based around society falling apart with criminals eking out survival in a dystopian nightmare its designed to make you question things in general. Honestly after watching altered carbon season 1 and blade runner as well as reading neuromancer this game hit all the right notes with the story and as you said from what mike pondsmith was saying its not about saving the world its about individual stories of saving oneself. If you knew when precisely you were going to die and there wasn't any escaping it what would you do? such an interesting question sacrifice yourself for an engram or live out your remaining life as a legend maybe not something you wanted but something you got from the whole journey. There are many other options at that point to its fun to see so many people miss those points by complaining about "side quests" being generic when they miss out on some of the more in depth missions that build and expand on characters and add more to night city.

This game to me despite not being able to save V for more then six months is probably the best representation of a story giving an ending that isn't one hundred percent cut and dry good or bad its not even a clean break either especially because with this ending in particular Silverhand hand points out he can never forget V because he's wearing there face sure he could change it but if he did that could be like burying V in some hole in the dirt just like how Silverhand was.

Yeah, the story is golden in this game. People give it shit for being buggy, not being GTA VI and limited branching story options, yet I love it. Why? The story is convincing, instead of being another naive rehash of "you are the chosen one! go and stop evil". The world is atmospheric and characters well fleshed out.

There are no heroes in Night City. Only Legends. There are people who try and fuck do they try... but they never win. The City pushes everyone to the edge and you either go out in a blaze of glory or live long enough to lose everything that matters. The 'Good' Cops that don't die fighting corruption go crooked. The Doctors and Nurses that don't break from the daily flood of rent metal, death, blood and guts just go private- their oaths forsaken unless you pay them to care. The Rockers that take to the streets to fight corporate colonialism and maddening chaos- uniting people to seek a better future, they either die young or live to see their message lost, misinterpreted, ignored and forgotten. Johnny did both in a way. Went out in a Blaze of Glory and 55 years later his name scars the city streets; but nothing has changed. He changed nothing. The City scrugged him off and continued its freefall without him. He is not a hero. Heroes save the girl- not trap them in cyberspace. Heroes kill the Evil Emperor- not watch them order their death. Heroes make the world a better place- not make it worse. Heroes are the kind of people who wouldn't sacrifice themselves for someone who didn't deserve a second chance... they won't be that stupid. And that's what breaks Johnny. He can think of a billion reasons why he shouldn't have been saved. Why V should have taken their body back and let him fade away beyond the Blackwall. All the reasons why he had absolutely no reason to come back after ruining so many lives. But there he is. Standing before the memorial of V. The only friend they had left and the only hero Night City would ever know. Cause there are no heroes in Night City. Only Legends.

Other games have made me feel bad ass. Other games have made me feel sad. Other games have made me feel happy. No other game has made me feel death breathing down my neck while holding on to my loved ones for dear life. No other game has made me love and hate the world at the same time. The urge to leave, but the need to stay, or is it vise versa? Who's to say?

There's an unexplainable fear and sadness to this version. Sort of makes you think about how unforgiving Night City is as an entity. Some people just aren't cut out for it.

The endings hit hard for me cause I can relate to V as a character. Now not on every level of course but in terms of personality, yeah, I have lost friends too, sometimes I feel hopeless but keep going, and I wonder what kind of memory I'll leave behind and etc. That's why I love V, hes such a relatable character to many. And really does remind you of the human condition and how fragile we really are. Sometimes you gotta look death in the face and spit, because no matter what, itll eventually catch up with you so make your time here worth it. Think about it, if you had 6 months to live, what would you do?

I can't get enough of this song. I, like many people here have been touched by this games story. It's such a tragedy. From my experience playing Cyberpunk Red, (the tabletop roleplaying game), this games story is so fitting to the setting. There are almost never happy endings, just morbidly beautiful stories of the fight to survive.

Man this segment of the game was so emotional. It's literally gives emotional vibes like the games rdr2,tlou gave to people. I am sad that people missed out s great story because game performed poorly.

At this point right now im pretty sure that somewhere out there them cd project red devs are sitting, listening to this song thinking what could've been if... if they didn't launch that game when they did but instead delay it one more year.. i mean sure yeah that extra year would be hell because everyone would trash them for such a long delay, BUT... when the game would finally come out polished and just the way it is right now, not only people would forgive them that they had to wait that long but also the game would become the best game of the century right away... seriously no other game or movie made me feel the way this game did.. i never cared this much about any fictional character ever before.. i stopped playing it week ago and its still in my head.. truly a masterpiece.. really sad that it has this rough beginning and that it took me 2 years to finally give it a try....

It's nice to see people who appreciate CYBERPUNK as much as I do for a change. So many complain about its launch and a few glitches they're working out, but I've never played a game with such human bonding and emotional aspects. It was incredible how many countries they linked with it personally as well. The release was rushed, but they were literally getting death threats. I think the ones complaining are also just used to shoot 'em ups. Cyberpunk is deep and they missed that part. Some of us want more than to roam around killing NPC's.

Totally agree here! I experienced some bugs, but not near as much as I heard other people did. All of that aside, the things this game did right (story and music) were AMAZING, in my opinion. This wasn’t the ending I did on my first playthrough. (I did the Aldecaldo ending). There was one particular part of that ending that really resonated with me. I’m a healthcare worker and had had a particularly sh**y week. I completed that quest on my day off and when “Breathe Free” popped up on the screen…it was something I needed to see. This game nailed it with emotions.
@beeinthehive2 жыл бұрын
@@JH-jj9zf It sure did. Too many people complain about tiny stuff and miss the big picture. It's like they all wanted to hate it and made every excuse possible to form their opinions around that hate. I think some just heard the hate and went into it with that expectation. It's nice to meet a fellow freethinker.✊
@JH-jj9zf2 жыл бұрын
@@beeinthehive Totally agree. Do I think it could have been better? Absolutely I do. But even with the bugs, I’d put it near the top of my list. The soundtrack (both the background music like this one…as well as the radio stations) are an absolute favorite for sure. My take is that while they could have done better on some things (or many, depending on how you look at it), the things they did right, were RIGHT. I saw something about the soundtrack being nominated for best score awards. Well deserved in my opinion.
@beeinthehive2 жыл бұрын
@@JH-jj9zf Right. They're fixing the bugs too, but that isn't good enough for them. Did you know that the creators were getting death threats because they were taking too long releasing it? I'd be in a hurry to release it too. I think they were going to do several things differently but we're worried. I agree, man. The best score ever. The best game ever, and that's including Skyrim. No game has ever made me tear up before Cyberpunk. It is definitely the best game ever to me.

I'm still working on the game slowly but I recently turned 21 and this song is as bitter and somber as I can describe the city where I live in. Dear old L.A isn't too far gone as night city, it strips a human from all of their will and continues to swallow them whole. I finally understand why the quality of life here will never improve here, I hope to move away one day but I don't think I will never ever stop feeling empty. In memorial to all the V's who let their Johnny take over. Never fade away you guys.

This played during moments of death and/or remembrance. V, Evelyn, johny every loss this was it's orchestra. this song is about inevitably, you can't control the stop of something that you never had control to start. How we can only prolong inevitable situation that we never asked for, think about it. No one asked tombe born but then we ask not to die despite death being something that faces everyone in the face. Coming to terms with loss of anything is difficult but this song shows that the only way to keep someone at our sides when they're gone is to remember them, this version of the is like remembering johny, eveyln, v. While they are gone the faint memory of them might be enough to keep them with us.

After all the updates and clocking nearly 400 hours I can easily say this has to be one of my Top 5 favorite games of all time, up there with the likes of Red Dead 2. If i survive till the year 2077, i dont care why, how or how old I am, i will sit ontop of a skyscraper watch the city and just hear never fade away. Alone and just thinking about what ive done with my life and what the world has become. Then I would shed a last tear before going back down, because that would probably be the last moment in my life where i could just have a quiet thought by myself before I die.

Having played the game throught and through, digging into theories and lore, watching Edgerunners and realizing the depth of the Cyberpunk universe made me so f*cking hyped for the sequel even though it's probably ATLEAST 5 years away. You don't understand the possibilities that sequel can bring, the conspiracy theories it can prove or bust, the ups and downs it could and will bring again. The possibility of every ending being canon (except suicide prolly) and having one meeting point is eye watering. Please CD project, give Valerie(Vincent) a happy closure, she deserves it.
