Caging Songbird felt like a pretty evil choice just to get a new ending and although V keeps his life he loses everything in the process.

Even if you don't romance him (just friends), he says this. He's literally the best one, he wants to send you eddies and would gladly hang out with you once his tour is done. The only reason he can't do it this instant is because he's on tour, but he's literally the only person who hasn't forgotten you.

I disagree, Kerry changed in this ending, and for the worse. He might be the only one who got out of it technically more successfull, but he's no longer Samurai, even the tiny connection with Johnny is now gone. He's not that "busy", V is just not a priority for him, and will never be

People really like to mischraracterise how ker reacts here. He thinks of eddies first cuz no shit, you just got out of a coma, you're gonna need scratch to get off your feet. Knowing him he doesnt expect it in return either. He couldve just done nothing but he wants to see you again when hes done with his tour. Him, vik and misty are real ones

Kerry seemed alright connecting with V again, Kerry's just busy now sure, but at least he came up with a time-lapse on when he'd be back and three- four months, tops. But he literally said if it wasn’t for his contract tour deal, he'd be flying his way out to V rn. He's not against meeting with V again, that's what's important..unlike River or Panam I mean he's waited 50 years to hear back from Johnny during act 1-3, I'm sure 2 years is nothing compared to that, so I could see Kerry waiting on V until he finally hears the call. His voice. Kerry sounds so relived once he figures out its V talking. Not angry or upset like other romances, but Kerry genuinely cares and you can tell he was hoping for this call.

Yeah it leaves an open ending where we can imagine Ker being there for V as soon as he is done with the tour and help him find the new purpose for life out of Merc work. Everyone else has forgotten V and moved on because he didn't do as they wanted. Besides Ker also asks V to call him on holo, it's not like they have to not to talk for four months, it's just that they can't meet.. so in that way imo this is a really sweet and hopeful open ending.

He could have invited him to join him or said come fly to me but, yeah, Kerry doesnt know whats going on, doesnt know if there are feelings or whatever and decided to concentrate on him and then see whats up once he is done. Sometimes you just need some time to see for yourself and then decide. Pretty realistic after not having heard from someone for 2 years.

Kerry is the only one who stays. That surprised me, but after CDPR completely screwed the pooch with his romance, this is a good thing. Could have been a little better, but hey...and those claiming that Kerry is blowing V off...who hurt you?

Exactly, i'm straight, but Kerry has better chemistry with V and Johnny. Panam was always annoying to me, I never did the romance option for her. Judy is a bit annoying, but her bitterness is way more understandable so I gavehee the benefit of the doubt.

Only one out of the romances that actually seems stable and happy to see you. Rest either don’t want anything to do with V or have moved on. Hell, even the way Kerry sounds it’s like he’s putting his life first (understandable but still). V is completely screwed, lost absolutely everything and everyone they ever cared for, and then their career and life is up in smokes. I get that this is what would happen in IRL if someone just disappeared without a word for 2 years (which, just why? Why didn’t V contact their significant other before having surgery), but this game needs chill with the gloom and doom, holy hell. I’ll stick with the Aldacaldo ending, thanks. Need the catharsis after so much bad stuff that happens in game. V can’t catch a break.

Kerry just prob gonna toss V some eddie and then throw V to the curb. I mean he was being cheerful and all but that because he a Rockstar, being charismatic is second nature to him. It just pretty much the same as with other romance, Kerry clearly has no feeling left toward V but at least he megarich so he can prob spare a few thousand eddie but that gonna be it.

All the other romance help V out in the main quest and their side quest is about helping their family/gang. Meanwhile, Kerry the only one that didn't help out and his quest is about getting back to his Rockstar lifestyle.

An old and "been there, seen it all" Rockerboy is the best romantic interest in the game for me... Who would've thought! Kerry's romance was so wholesome and warm! Both men were so supportive of each other, they genuinely cared about the sincere and real feelings they had, which was such a rarity in Night City... And then Kerr simply crossed him out of life just in 2 years! Well, f@ck. It's painful. Although it's so much better than a successful suicide attempt. I am glad it didn't happen and our man moved on. Anyway, thanks to the creators of the game for giving them at least a small chance to reunite. Even if everything screams it probably won't happen I still believe that there is a way for them to get a happy ending.

Why am I not surprised that out of the four romance options, the one that is the most willing to help out V after a two year coma is the rich celeb that's way better off than the rest. Seriously though, I'm happy that its not all doom and gloom with the four romance options. River's was just depressing, Judy at least got what she wanted by leaving NC but burned whatever feelings she had with Fem V, and who tf knows with Panam. Knowing how emotional she can be, she probably still bitter about it, to the point where she burned any and all bridges from NC. Probably explains why Mitch managed to intercept V's message to Panam, as he'd probably know how she took V's disappearance hard and doesn't want to see her that upset again.

River's saying to V 'I'm not the person I used to be' when V probably has a higher kill count than anyone in night city sides Johhny/Blackhand/Smasher. Doubt he is diddling kids, so really he can't have done anything worse than V had already. It just reads as CDPR not understanding their characters. They wanted a bleak ending but didn't know how to write it. Would be realistically more bleak if it turned out all of them had died one way or another then this bullshit. And a FIA (or netwatch) offer for corpo V sounds like a pretty sweet gig. Marginally more ethical than arasaka counterintel, and you'd probably jump the ranks to the top in no time with your experience. Nomad V also has options. Join the Snake Nation. Join the Aldecados. Panam might hate you, but she's not the only voice in the family.

@@Flutok I disagree. A huge part of River's character was him being against all of the corruption and red tape that is attached with the NCPD. Him caving in to Trauma Team's demands of blackmail material regarding the NCPD made him no different from the people he used to stand up to.

Honestly, romance partner or a friend, Kerry does make this ending a tad bit better, at least there is a chance knowing that he will help V out when he gets back, more than anyone else did really.

The reason he so well adjust with V gone for 2 years was because he's an egomaniac and the relationship with V is just a flinch for him. I honestly thought Judy was the best and realistic. She move on with her live, settle down and prob can still be friend with you.

Everyone here is simping for Kerry in this ending, but... i dunno. He never struck me as a genuine type. He has a good life thanks to us, sure, we got him out from his suicidal depression phase. But then his mind is very focused on his carreer and himself much more than on his partner in any of the endings. It does not feel like his true emotional bond. I am fully expecting him to delay those 3-4 months indefinitely, sending sorries on postcards sometimes. Think of this in comparison to Aldecaldos ending, where Panam just immediately springs into action as soon as she knows V needs help. There are no "I need to think of my clan" or "oopsie i'm busy right now i'll help you in 3-4 months" Sure Panam is very hurt that V was gone for so long without a word, but that is who she is, emotions get the better of her very easily. Could write her ending better though, but that is on CDPR. I'm guessing they could not bring Panam's voice back for DLC or smth

In the night city legend ending he gets really worried talking with you and trying to convince you to not to go on the last gig you planned because he doesnt want to lose any of the time he has left with you. More than anything I'd say he's scatterbrained.

Did you not pay attention during The Sun ending? He admits he does not want to lose V. In fact, someone calls him during their talk on the balcony and he throws his phone off the edge instead of answering it and says there are more important things. That doesn't sound like someone who doesn't care to me. In fact, his message during the credits is sweet as fuck. He talks about how he likes being out and about with V, but would rather just sit on the couch with him and watch TV like a normal couple. Him being on tour isn't him not caring. V wouldn't want him to wallow in worry and sadness for two years. He wouldn't want Kerry to go back to the depressive state he was in when he broke into his house with Johnny. I don't know where any of y'all are getting this whole "Kerry doesn't give a shit" vibe cuz it ain't there.
