No doubt that in less than 6 months V puts a bullet in the back of their head. But instead of taking their life in their own hands like the suicide ending, it would be out of pure depression. I still stand in my opinion that the stars ending is the best, because of the reading at the end that says we have a bright future. Can't be bright if you're dead, so surely both the stars and sun ending leads to surviving with abilities in tact but the stars seems a little brighter even if they are no longer in NC.

I feel the link has always gone both ways, and this proves it to me. V and Johnny got the best of each other. While I wouldn’t say Johnny became “nice” he did become far more empathetic, much like V was in the beginning. V, meanwhile, got Johnny’s determination and attitude, giving him the strength to see this wild rodeo to the end. In short, these two are absolutely dope, and had they both been around in two separate bodies, would’ve absolutely torn NC up.

But it's weird how for example, only a few minutes prior he was showing V how to use the handset phone. I think the perfect canon ending would be V and Johnny going in alone in Don’t Fear the Reaper, succeeding, and V deciding that instead of staying in Night City, he leaves with Panam. That would make him even more of a Night City Legend. Then, some time after he leaves, he could get the surgery to have the chip removed. Whether he can keep using his cyberware or not, he would still be with Panam and the Aldecaldos.

Did the surgery ending yesterday, it fucking broke me when Johnny started to feel sad as we made the choice to call Reed, and that whole talk in AV and everything that comes after. Everyone one V knew had moved on except for Misty and Vick. Makes me realize how true of a friend they and Johnny were despite everything, bet if Johnny were alive in anyway he would've still stuck by us. Cherry on top when he calls V with her/his real name. It broke me. I have mixed feeling about this ending, although I like V got to live, but with a big price losing our best friend, losing love interest, and few other ppl we considered closest had moved on. But in the end I would like to believe V made peace with it, with her smiling in cutscene, possibly taking that job offer too from Reed.

Then, when they finally do let someone in who's fully open about probably dying within a few weeks/months, they say "hey i'll be gone for a few weeks but I cant say why", and then disappear for TWO WHOLE YEARS. They've both called you over and over a fuckload of times to no avail, so either you've A) Totally ghosted them after you keep affirming how you'll be there for them no matter what, or B) Just straight up fucking died like you've been telling them you will. Of course they've moved on, hell Judy doesn't even say "never contact me again", just that she's happy in her relationship and doesn't wanna hurt that, meanwhile Panam has a Nomand clan to lead and is probably CONSTANTLY busy. I kinda hate it how people are like "grr they moved on after 2 years of thinking V had abandoned them or died. They should have done nothing with themselves in the extremely unlikely chance they'd be back if they died, or thrown their doors back open if they had just fucking ghosted them like a pure asshole >:(". Honestly there are no good endings to Phantom Liberty. Even if I agree with Song Bird's wishes she still lied to me and dragged me into a life or death scenario when I am on borrowed time as it is, with her false promises. Worse I have to kill Reed who I do not hate as a person, as the man tries to do right by his crew even though he works for people who hold him and them in little regard. However, I hate the idea of handing Song bird over to her former masters BECAUSE of what they did to her and the way they've treated Reed and his crew. The only good thing to come out of Phantom Liberty's storyline for V, is the idea that some kind of cure exists. I'll take that knowledge and hope for the best when I leave Night City behind to travel with Panam and her family.

As much as I love Johnny, I like that he kind of takes a back seat in this DLC. He doesn't agree with V going on this suicide mission really at all, and views it as a waste of time. It's only until V is too far in that Johnny starts to give his opinion on the situation. The complexity of the whole thing even makes someone like Johnny not know the right path to take. So he just lets V go about things in their own way.

And Johnny sends out a citywide evacuation warning and he didn't intend on killing civilians. Johnny Silverhand is a hero.

@@everythingsalright1121 Johnny always had a warped self-image, and that got 10 times worse due to his memories being both heavily scrambled and actively WRONG in some cases (it was Blackhand that did all the stuff at the Tower). It’s very important to note that in the path to be becoming his friend you don’t just need to be nice/sympathetic, you also need to call him out for his legitimately asshole behavior and hold him to task in order to get him to pull his head out of his own ass. He’s much nicer if you are able to get through to him

​@@NeoCreo1I don't really know about all that "wrong memories" theory. seems more like a CDPR's own interpretation and own canon. if Silverhand died as in pen-and-paper, why does Rogue catch him on the heli with the phrase "not again" or something in his ending? they either just fucked it up or made their own canon at that point

@@antiprime295 What makes me buy into that theory is there are several points in the game that reference parts of the books that cover the tower fight that we don’t see in his memories, like Johnny getting cut in half by Smasher’s gun. There are enough details that are exactly on-point that make me suspect his memories are off, for a variety of potential reasons (Arasaka messing with them, the degradation his mind already had when copied, his hero complex + self-serving memory). Alt also straight up days at one point that his memories are what he WANTS to remember, which makes a lot of sense when you compare how it went down in the books.
