HRC: Edge is between 55 and 60 hrc. 60 bites but the 55 does not have any bite. The spine is between 50 and 55. The 55 bits and the 50 does not.
Edge Bevels: Goniometer shows roughly 8 degrees for the secondary bevel. The bevel is mostly even except near the tip where it becomes very uneven. After sharpening the Goniometer still shows 8 degrees but a shiny secondary bevel has shown between 18 and 25 degrees. I’m not sure I am using the too right.

The lower cost Honshu stuff is questionable however the higher priced swords seem reasonable,Shadversity liked the broadsword,the pommel did pop off but the blade held and surprisingly the handle stayed put when the pommel came off so maybe the extra $100 gets you a better sword. I'd not go within a mile of some of the D2 swords they have that could be...scary.

All of there D2 are less than 20inches long and have wide blades, they should hold up well; unless you strike with the flat of the blade.

@@QseftJohn As long as they gonna keep those abrupt 90 degree angles where the tang meets the blade I wouldn't trust any of their swords with my life, let alone a D2 version of that. + A good sword shouldn't break even if you strike with the flat. Also there are cheaper swords that hold up to much more abuse then what you can see in the video.

I think they look kinda cool. I get it is not for everyone but it is cost effective and tacticool looking. If it was a little better built then it would be easy to recommend if that was your thing.

@@Matthew_Jensen I gotta admit I like the midnight versions. Something about murdered out stuff appeals to me. And there's potential for customization. A waki for 100 bucks ain't that bad at all. If one were to be a little gentler it would probably be fine. Ialmost got the seax as custom project but I just can't stand the 'speed holes' on a blade. It's not even that Im worried about durability they just bug me for no good reason.

Yeah I don't like honshus construction or temper. Their screw pommels have too long screw area and makes the tangs smaller almost to the point of rattail. Good designs though. Just wish they would make a better product.
