Our side gate needed repair and we put Matt’s Cybertruck to work. Dave brought his welder and tried to fix the gate but there wasn’t enough juice to keep it running.

My welds improved by 50% when i purchased a Auto dimming helmet, nice work 👌. I just received a configuration email from Tesla after 4 1/2 years for a CT, Foundation services ends after July,. I'm waiting it out for a AWD . 👍

It’s because your running it off a extension cord guys

You are the first personI have seen using the Cyber truck for work and RV scenarios . Thanks

Thanks! That’s the whole point of this channel and the truck. Not trying to get too fancy…just want to share my experience as a “normal” person with this truck. Appreciate the comment!

Best truck ever and I've been in construction for 30 years. Haters just gonna hate though. PS, you should have used a 220V welder for sure!

Thanks for the comment! Glad you like it. Definitely gets more looks than I expected but it’s been fun so far!

trying to power a welder from 120vac is stupid from the word go. just use the cybertruck 240v outlet
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
Yeah…it’s what we had I suppose. The welder did the job but not with that 25’ cord.
@arthurmario5996Ай бұрын
@@MattsCybertruck I had one of those that came with a 120v plug, but it would take 240v without any changes. I just cut off the plug and put a 240v plug on and it was so much better!

1920w continous is the max... You don't want to pull over 80% the rated capacity, which is 2400w. Use the 240v also need a 12 guage extension.

That's a nice looking truck. Kinda wish it was smaller.
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
Thanks! I actually wish it was a bit larger. I’d have traded another 6” in the bed for even more rear seat room for storage and people. Definitely wish it was a couple inches wider.

Matt please do a 220volt vs 110volt comparison demo! Using the welder.

It's all about peak power. If it can't stabilize fast enough, it's going to trip. The one in my diesel truck is also trash.
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
Hmmm…interesting. It was certainly bouncing all over. I will try without the extension cord and see if that’s more stable.
@1dave301Ай бұрын
I'm not sure why, but the extension cord causes issues. I tried to run a 2hp 120V air compressor thru a 12 gauge 25 foot cord. It kept popping a 20amp breaker. Without the extension cord, no problem.
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
Interesting. I’ll keep trying some different methods and see what I learn. Thanks for sharing!
@skitown11Ай бұрын
Extension cord length plays a factor. Not much that you can do about that.
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
I’m going to get a heavier duty (and shorter) cord that I travel with. Seems like a good idea. I’ve used this cord successfully with my 20amp outlet and travel trailer A/C unit pulling 3k watts but I think this welder was way too “spikey” for it to handle.

Have to say, even a blind person can tell how horrible that truck looks. My gawd.

Thanks for the comment! It’s not for everyone but I’ve been enjoying learning all about it. Favorite features have to be the speed and the steering.

Funny how people think soft metal covered in delicate pretty paint is somehow more truck like

Why would you buy that twuck? Lol

How big of a fool do you have to be to buy a battery powered vehicle? 😂
@MattsCybertruckАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment! It’s been very convenient so far. Never needed more range than what I’ve used but I don’t think I’d only go to electric for quite some time.
