that little block you removed has something to do with allowing the front wheels to break away and not get shoved into the driving area in case of a front impact.
@OVER-bENGINEERED2 күн бұрын
Metal parts like that in the front, sometimes are designed to break the wheels in extreme collisions. Wheels are very strong and you actually want to destroy them in a severe frontal offset /small overlap collision so they can’t intrude to passenger space.

makes sense, thanks!!

Monroe thought it was to help the tire shear off quicker in the event of an offset front impact or something like that.

6:45 I think those are a safety feature, where those spacers push into the rim to disengage the wheel from the "truck" in the event of an accident.

It looks 100 percent better with lift and look. The trimming is what we do when we buy a regular 4x4, so it's no biggie. Are you going to wrap it or leave it stainless?
@SonsOfAnxiety2 күн бұрын
yep i fit 37s easy on my JT jeep, but the cybertruck requires some more attention.

Can you show how you avoided contact between the front tire and the upper ball joint?
@SonsOfAnxiety2 күн бұрын
the wheels have a low enough offset meaning the poke out enough to clear the upper ball joint. In this case, If a wheels offset was too low, wheel spacers can be added to space out the wheels
@ryancheesman400Күн бұрын
Do you mind sharing the wheel details then? What happens at the low ride height setting with those new links and wheels. Do you get even more rubbing? Btw, this is exactly what I've been planning to do once I pull the trigger on the truck.

@SonsOfAnxiety2 күн бұрын
no alignment, suspension geometry has not changed.
@darylfortney80812 күн бұрын
@ but it’s riding at a higher suspension on average now which changes the camber. Camber adjustment or shims might be necessary to prevent excessive premature wear. Probably should atleast have it measured and adjusted accordingly. In any case Teslas typically have poor alignment fresh from the factory.
@SonsOfAnxiety2 күн бұрын
@@darylfortney8081 its all within the same normal ride height , just tricks the suspension. Any camber will create uneven wear, but not premature wear. Premature wear is caused by toe
