This month Tesla started delivering the Cybertruck in volume to actual customers; since then, there's been tons of confounding headlines and questions posted on the internet. So, after 2500 miles of ownership, here's what I know so far.

The Foundation Series Dual Motor Cybertruck has 318 est mile range because of all-terrain tires. 340 miles is for all season tires which are coming later this year.

Come on man, stop making excuses. The last time I checked, Texas speed limit is 80mph. The Cybertruck range is worst then the Model Y

@@humboldtave3200 get low rolling resistance tires and keep them pumped up - there are more efficient aero caps -and the countach looked better before the flaired wheel arches

It's actually pretty consistent with Model Y when driving at 70 to 80 mph with 20 inch wheels and no aro caps. Realistically you will get about 250 miles. @@humboldtave3200

OMG, back up at a supercharger until your tires gently touch the tire-stop. That’s literally one of the main reasons they’re there, so you don’t have to guess. Being nervous is a personal choice. I have noticed they’re removing all tire stops and bollards at some of supercharger stations I have been to lately.

you're hilarous Aaron..you mean you can';t live without those? how about using your rear cameras haha or sensors or your own trusting your car and knowing space between your car and other things thats what I do anyways bud. I am glad they are removing them since they are making better drivers out of tesla drivers. I never use door and always park right before the stopper and its not bad but i don't see a point since ive seen car owners at charging stations not happy about it and actually pissed when they go over it lol by some miracle haha.

For knowing when to stop when backing up at a charger I thought you were supposed to back up until your tires touched those parking ties. I think they are made of some tire friendly material. They're not at every station though.

I wouldn’t remove the rear view mirror, it would let me see what’s going on with back seat passengers ( the mirror is small so I don’t know how much view you would have.)

Wow. Seems like almost no one understands EPA testing and range estimates, and keeps saying things that imply BEVs are underperforming. They’re not. They get exactly the range they can, based upon how they’re driven. EPA does a combination of city and highway driving tests. Of course BEVs get less range if driven least efficiently. That’s exactly like quoting the highway MPG of a car, then testing it only in city driving, and then complaining it doesn’t get the highway range in the city. Of course it doesn’t, because you’re doing it wrong. It’s not the truck’s fault you’re only telling half of the story.

ICE cars list city and highway. I’ve always gotten very near the listed MPH. BEVs list best case scenario range, I’ve never gotten anywhere close because I do a lot of highway. BEVs need to list range at highway speeds as well.

@@davidr3246BEVs don’t list the best range, they list combined MPGe just like any other vehicle. Visit fueleconomy.gov and see for yourself

Yeah man. And then we should consider temperature. The misleading out of spec nonsense test was done at 38-45F mostly around 42. Epa is 68-86 Also it was done at 700ft instead of 4000ft the rivian and f150 were tested. Another 15% disadvantage for the cybertruck. I wish we could see a true side by side test. Cybertruck will blow the others away especially if they would drive 60MPH which is a more sensible way to drive in an EV truck. They do not have the best range bit time wise you better drive 60 instead of 70 as it will save you charging time.
