Hey Tabby! I'm very new to Fairy Kei and I would like to know if you can wear bandaid items/medical stuff in Fairy Kei? is it Fairy Kei?
@ladylovelylocks3 жыл бұрын
@@Kane093-s2d I would say that bandaids you can wear in j-fashion no matter which style it is but im not sure abt medical stuff 😅
@Kane093-s2d3 жыл бұрын
@@ladylovelylocks yeah I'm not sure abt medical stuff either but yeah I think bandaids in J-fashion is like a neutral thing meaning that you can wear Bandaids in every j-fashion I've seen people in the Fairy Kei fashion wear bandaids on their noses and stuff but I don't think it might be that common but yeah I think bandaids is a fairy Kei/neutral J fashion thing but medical stuff is only a Yami Kawaii/Menhera thing I'm pretty sure.

As someone who wears fairy kei/yume kawaii, I feel like some influencers can be too gate keepy. Like, I buy whatever I can find to make my outfits because it's hard for me to use taobao. I make my own accessories and buy the rest on etsy. So- that's my opinion.

the part about the hashtags really reminds me of the goth community too, the hashtag goth and even tradgoth got flooded with non goth fashion after a while people started to use #gothgoth as a hashtag for the actual goths, it worked for a while but then the nongoths sadly noticed it too and it got flooded too

Refreshing to hear people who actually remember the origin of fairy-kei speaking on it. I'm not a participant in fairy-kei, but I've been in and around fairy-kei in jfashion and there's far too many people who are 2 years fresh into learning jfashion talking on the origins and what all jfashions are, including lolita. Lolita is starting to become SO muddled due to the amount of new people flooding into it.

Okay sorry for my novel length comment, but this video is so so good and helpful! 1. I would agree that fairy kei is one of the most difficult jfashions to pull off. Putting together a lolita coord feels very straight forward to me, but fairy kei feels harder to pin down. 2. "Con fashion" is a good term for that. I have worn pastel outfits as my go to style for years, mostly "random stuff from the mall" with some lucky eBay/depop finds like the sparkly sweaters thrown in. And like, it's cute, people love it and know me as that person always wearing pink and lavender, but I've always wanted to try real fairy kei. I've been adding more appropriate pieces lately. So I'm in this in between zone where I'm not wearing true fairy kei, but I look like someone who knows what it is? Or takes inspiration from it? I want to fully embrace it. 3. That diagram is exactly what I was looking for to demystify the core elements of the fashion! Texture is a big one, I can totally see that. I'll have to consider that more when planning out a coord! 4. The lurex sweaters kill me, but they look so good, lol. I'm determined to find the perfect undershirt that makes them wearable.

Soon as you start to find a flow with your personal style you really start to know what you like and if you see something you like that seemly doesn't 'work' in your style sub genre that you know how to make it work. I love lots of jfashion styles but I don't wear it because my personal style is looking like a 80s rock star. Don't give up keep exploring you'll find your flow. Heck I started out as a skater emo kid and over time it became the reject 80s metal band groupie look. I do love fairy kei as an style because of it's 80s influences. I do have a few pieces that are fairy kei looking that I rough up and add edge to it.

I saw your comment about how your hannahs age and you get motivated to wear j-fashion and honestly go for it! J-fashion is meant to be there to express yourself! Try one by one collecting pieces and putting it together! Each day get a hang of it for example cyber suggested that when we're new to the j-faahion community one by one start to go to more public places each time so for example start of by maybe wearing fairy kei or your j-fashion style and go for example to a less public place and when you get the hang of it go to more public places! I recently just started dressing my j-fashion style after waiting for 2 years to wear it and I have been doing this as well so I suggest doing this!

@@ladylovelylocks im so late to this omg, but i actually made a lot of progress!! i wear accessories and the colors basically daily now, the only thing i dont rlly wear are the skirts/dresses, and thats just a general thing w me, i stopped wearing skirts after graduating secondary school :( been tryna get back into it actually. i wore fairy kei over spring break, and now im free from uni so im gonna wear all the skirts and dresses i can to get more comfy w it again!! its been lots of fun ngl my big issue is wearing it on campus, i feel odd even tho i get compliments already in my fairy-with-jeans outfits already? i wanna reach that point before i graduate in december lol what jfashions do you wear/like?
@ladylovelylocks2 жыл бұрын
@@jennifer__e omg I'm so glad that you got the hang of it!! Super proud!! Dont worry about being late at all to my comment, happends so often! Skirts aren't my thing either, so I usually recommend flowy skirts that go down to your ankle, and maybe customize the skirt with, jewels, beads, charms, really just anything! Honestly the more you get comfortable with the skirt length, you'll feel confident in any length. My j-fashion style has evolved so much. I'm still collecting a few pieces. I used (and still) really love sweet lolita, hope to dress in some lolita pieces when I get my own money and stuff, But by the time I commented this comment, I was really into pastel decora/fairy-kei inspired decora. Now it's kinda evolved in a angelic pastel rainbow elf goddess. I still currently have interest in fairy-kei, pastel decora and sweet lolita, I take inspiration from those styles, but I don't think its something I would wear on a daily bases. Although im still obsessed with them. Totally down to see you in fairy-kei though!! If you have some socials, lemme follow you gal! Love the update

it's funny how pastel goth isn't wanted by any community, so they had to make their own. it isn't a j-fashion style tho it's clearly inspired by some, and all the goths screech when we see the word goth next to "pastel". also because goth is a music-based subculture, the pastel part has nothing to do with the music so it can't be goth, by definitiion 😂😄 but oh well...

OMFG Tabby and i are the same height aaaahh!!!! tbh this is exactly the reason i go back and forth on going on T and being a sweet/classic/country/casual lolita like, i already dress how i want, but i do kinda _hate_ being presumed to be any particular gender but esp. assumed to be a cishetero woman just because i like pink, pastels, frills, & cute shit. lolita feels like armor a lot of the time ngl, and it's kinda rly badass, gorgeous, lovely armor, but as a nonbinary person (& recently in & out of visibly disabled person o.O), i rly just want ppl to like, sure, if they like my outfit, like that, but mostly let me just beee myself out in the world aha.

ive been wearing fairy kei for several years and to me, there's another reason why i steer away from spank! and other vintage fashions: im fat! 9/10 of them will not fit me. when i first started out i *tried* thrifting. i only ever found one fairy keiable item and had my grandma turn some sweaters into some legwarmers. other than that, there isn't much i can find there for me and its immensely disappointing. that's why i had to turn to etsy and independent US sellers to get most of my clothing. i simply don't have any other choice. i hope that over time different kinds of sizing can become more easily accessible in these big names, not just in fairy kei, but in lolita and every other kind of jfashion that has form fitting silhouettes.
