Honza of AZUB and I start our tour of Czechia and Slovakia. Honza was riding his MINI AZUB recumbent bicycle, and I was riding my custom built AZUB TiFLY X. The first day’s ride was short but on an incline as we headed to the border of Slovakia. Along the way we saw some changes in scenery and Honza educated us about the landscape and history. What do you think of KANEC for the name of the trike? (wild pig) Do you think we should have drunk beers with that guy? Visit AZUB at AZUB.eu FACEBOOK: facebook.com/azubrecumbents INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/azubrecumbents/ TWITTER: twitter.com/azubrecumbents Check out www.recumbent.news/ for information from Honza about recumbents and the industry. I very much enjoyed all of these videos and watching how your bike was made in the small business is used. I was bouncing back-and-forth between another ice or the Azub and I’m leaning towards the Azub

This was a great ride for you and Honza, I really enjoyed watching you learn your new ride, I know you know it a lot better now, but getting to see you break it in is nice. I think im about to break down and order a Tricon GR within a month or so. I really wouldn’t mind getting the Ti-fly X, but it’s just kinda out of my budget, I could get it, but wouldn’t be able to do any customization like I would want to add like the king cargo rack and stuff. The Tricon GR is basically the same as the X it just doesn’t have the front suspension system it has rear so it will be an upgrade to my current trike. If you’ve checked out any of my vids you know I ride an ICE Sprint X Tour rigged frame, I love it, but I want to sit a bit higher and those 26 rims all around is soooooo appealing to me! I’m sorry I’m rambling now lol that cheese did look good and it’s funny how Honza just made himself at home in that bench when you guys were eating lol I’ll be watching your guys adventure while in US in the van buddy keep peddling ❤

Honzas bike looks just like my challenge furai, that I bought used this summer. I still have to learn driving it better. Very difficult. It's like learning driving from the start. Most problems I still have on hills and tight curves. Honza is cycling like a pro.

I know what you mean about the clouds. The camera never does it justice. The clouds in Alberta at times make it look like heaven coming down.

Hub on 20" wheel is 10" from ground level vs 26" wheel at 13" = 3" higher ride height?

You can buy the bungee cord in bulk and redo your tent poles.. I got mine at a hardware store, just had to find similar size to the old bungee.. Not difficult to do..

I take it a trike is much easier to tour with compared to a conventional bicycle, and even compared to a recumbent bike since there is no need to maintain balance. What is the best touring trike? I currently have a Catrike 700 racing trike, probably wouldn't be good at touring. I'd like a touring trike with front and rear suspension.

my trike is probably the best touring trike for me... everyone has their own needs though.

LOVE the drone shots! What drone do you use? I bought a DJI Mini (a few generations old at this point, but it was less expensive), in hopes of filming some drone shots for my own future triking videos. Man, Czechia really is a beautiful country isn't it? What a great start to your shakedown tour!

Have you ever thought of electric assist ?
@JaYoeNation2 жыл бұрын
sure... but if i am still able.. i like to use my legs..
@Chuck-gd9rr2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you weren’t exactly happy with the 26" wheels on steeper grades. Since I live in the most mountainous State in the US, should I consider 20” Ti-Fly if I sell/trade my 20” Tricon. Also Shimano Steps or Brose? I’m sold on trying out Rohloff. I’ve got about 25 years on you and with all the uphills it seems like electric assist is in my future.

You mentioned not feeling much diff between the new X and the old 20. One thing for sure: your old 20 tolerated a greater off-camber state in the front wheels. Think riding across a slope instead of up or down it - or riding on a sidewalk and dropping one front wheel off the curb. With 20" front wheels and a 26" rear wheel, it takes about 9" of off-camber to flip me and my ICE Adventure HD. But when I put 26" front wheels on it, the off-camber tolerance drops to 7.5". That's when one front wheel is raised relative to the other front wheel and the rear wheel. YMMV because you have also gone from a 20" to a 26" rear wheen, but the general tendencies are there.
