I'm 67 years young and I ride everyday here in SW Florida. I gave up the fast bikes a long time ago. A Honda shadow 750 cruiser is fun , sounds good and with a windshield, saddlebags and top case it's all I need for everyday. Cheers brother 😎

The Honda Shadow 750 is a nice bike. Great to see you still riding! You are on the safer side of FL. I lived in Boca Raton for eight years, I would never ride a motorcycle in SE FL, the drivers are bat shiz crazy as hell there. My mom, who was once a driving instructor, quit driving after an accident in the FL that gave her PTSD. A guy in a truck ran into her car head on while she was stopped at a stop sign and totaled her car, she mad it out ok but was traumatized. I'm trying get her and my sister to move back to Ohio. lol

Almost 50, sitting here in my old man robe and fuzzy slippers, drinking coffee and looking at TW200s. There's a lot of obscure fishing spots and little trails here that would be perfect for a little bike like that. Never had a small off road capable bike. Looks like so much fun.

@markettradinggenius14 сағат бұрын
Brotha Cruza, what alot of people, especially 'newbies' don't realize is that when you are sitting on a sports bike, your back will automatically lean forward, which means you have to 'crank' your neck upwardly and after about 45 minutes of riding your neck starts to hurt. On top of that it's actually harder to turn your head to see 'side traffic' because the neck isn't meant to turn to the left or right while it's cranked upwardly. Now, get on an upright motorcycles and the neck problem and turning your head to the left and right issues are all gone !

Riding for over 15 years now and I don't think I'll ever change. My daily is still a 2018 R6 and it's soon to be paired with a new R9. As they'll rotate being the daily. I can't ever see myself getting another naked bike as I've owned an MT07 and MT09 SP or much less getting an ADV or cruiser. I'll just keep my 2 fast bikes and my lil Grom as my stable.
@CycleCruza16 сағат бұрын
Great to see you still riding. I find it enjoyable having a mix of different bikes but by far the most fun bike is my YZ450FX supermoto. The fast bikes make you speed which is like giving a crack pipe to an addict and telling him/her not to smoke it. lol I detailed that addiction in my "Throttle Crank Syndrome" video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXy5eKGgrZp_qJI I'm chill on ADV and Harleys as well, but I treat the MT-07 as my cruiser and love it. It has more bottom end grunt than a R6 ever had. You have to crank up the RPMs to get power out of a R6 as you know., amazing track weapon tho, it helped my cousin win races and become a professional racer.

Biggest advice I can give to the younger/new inexperienced riders- Avoid group sport bike rides. It’ll make you ride beyond your skill level just to keep up with everyone. Ride your own ride and stick with closer friends who understand your beginner skillset. And dress for the slide, even if you’re “just going across town”. Keep the rubber side down and be alert out there please.

I got started too late, but not stopping. For the year I have lol. 46 now. It will be 2 wheels as long as can. If can't do moto I'll go back bicycle. Need to do that anyway. Have not rode bike long time. 1 bike broke, scooter just took out battery. High potential for moving before next season.

I gave up on superbikes when i stopped doing track days. It just wasn't worth it to ride like that on the street. It wasn't for a lack of skill it just stopped being fun. @GhostRider02017 сағат бұрын
I am an old rider, 64 years old. I am here to tell you the fast bikes ARE more fun. It's not about pure speed; it's about cornering and leaning and precise lines. Power and control. I just put a deposit on a new GSX-R750. Insurance wrote off my old one. For the record, I was going very slow when I wrecked my old one, due to very bad fog. I understand if you are afraid to go fast and push your limits. Ride your own ride! Track riding is expensive. Been riding since 1986.

sport bikes look cool, they are light weight, have good electronics and tires. I think the naked bikes are the key really. They have all the sport bike benefits for the street and none of the drawbacks. honestly sport bikes are meant for riding on a track. There are so many different bikes I want just to experience them. It is really difficult to make an informed decision on what bike to get when you are just watching reviews and stuff.
@langhamp891218 сағат бұрын
I took my XSR900 to the track recently; other than an N3 shock and a largish fly windscreen (I know, contradiction in terms), it had no modifications and was as fast as I dared. Yeah, sportbikes are for the track but these hyper nakeds are just a tick behind while having ridiculously low insurance rates. In my selfish opinion, we should encourage go-fast people to go to sportbikes. Seasoned riders will ride naked bikes. If go-fast riders start buying naked bikes in vast numbers, then they'll start crashing them in vast numbers, bringing unwanted attention and higher insurance rates.
@steve00alt7017 сағат бұрын
Well there are people that take sportbikes on tour from UK to Finland, Poland. They take sportbikes like the bmws1000rr R1Liz from UK does
@langhamp891217 сағат бұрын
@@steve00alt70 The BMW S1000RR is the odd creature out. When it first came out, it was pushed to be a sportbike by BMW but eventually most people who bought it used it as a sport-tourer. Eventually, the S1000RR was offered with heated grips, cruiser control, and hard panniers (via Hepco & Becker), and the insurance rates are one of the lowest of the sportbikes. So people are not really buying the S1000RR as they would a Suzuki GSXR1000...they're buying them as more premium Suzuki GSXS1000's.
@CycleCruza17 сағат бұрын
The naked bikes are even better for the street and nearly as lightweight and tuned with more bottom end grunt but less top end power that you don't need on the street. I love the naked bikes but you can get crazy on some of them too like the Ducati Streetfighter V4, that bike is a beast. Stay safe!

Been street riding for over 30 years and will never ride a Harley or any other cruiser, not because they are slow and heavy but to me they are uncomfortable compared to sportbikes. I know that sounds insane 😂, but with a tankbag I can just lay down on it like street Rossi and get a decent 500 mile day. Also supermotos are fun af!!!
