I'm not sure how I feel about snowmobiles on a drag strip....but....I kinda want to see top fuel dragsters race on frozen lake now.

I started to drag race when I was 15. We raced in the WSRF association. I probably raced over 700 times. It was awesome

When you get at the starting line Never creep up. Make sure you get it on the line. If you creep it makes the belt go down the torque converter. You want the belt to stay at the top.

Can these snowmobiles be used in the winter as just a normal snowmobile, or are they only used for drag racing.
@dmag123411 ай бұрын
They must have modified radiators because a sled will overheat and blow up without snow to help it cool the radiotors under the footboards

@@cycledrag Damn right I would, just need a good teacher and I would then jump right on one. I remember when I was a kid some 30+ years ago my Dad took me to New England Dragway and that's when I saw the sleds. I remember walking through the pits and seeing one up close and was amazed what they did with the front skies which looked like roller blade wheels.

Do they run the quarter mile or 8th?

If these guys were to do a quarter mile pass, what would the estimated ET & MPH be at 1320 feet?

There are some sleds that run 200 in a quarter mile at US 131

Remember when they first started doing this stuff and we didn't want to see it at the truck and so it was put down to Thursday nights. That being said classic cars are now way over-the-top in price. Let the snowmobiles rule.

And when snowmobiles are too costly to run, then we'll end up on minibikes :)

@@cycledrag being a lifelong vmax owner and never laying it down.yes At one time I held the longest wheelie at firebird raceway in Boise Idaho, I was on a v65 magna with a kirker. I had been a big fan of pee wee Gleason he had tested the v65 and was able to get it into the tens at sea level. I practiced my lunch and my stuttering clutch release many many times. That being said I got prepared to make my second pass or the 3rd if you consider timing in. I was in the far Lane or left lane El firebird the right lane is called tower lane. In the tower Lane was some guy on a Harley. I lined up right in the track where a pro bike had just ripped off an amazing blast I put my muscle memory to work and went through the motions brought the bike up to 6500 at just the right moment to my shock I was instant traction I pulled in the clutch three times is the clutch would depress the right wrist would snap the throttle off on each pull of the clutch this was before I knew about Keith code twisted the wrist. And this was before I knew about really control with the back brake it was then that I learned. I touched the back brake somewhere pulling the clutch in the throttle snapping on and off. And I was passing the Harley and shifting through the we leave it was going down long story short when I got back to where my girlfriend was after picking up my time slip she said that I had set their track record for the longest wheelie 😂🤣😭🫣🧐. In later years I was in NHRA mechanic for a d/s stocker seven-time Wally winner 🏆 I got to meet a lot of awesome people involved with drug racing at all levels. After pica Kansas at midnight I was writing a Honda elite 250 pit bike and had to use both brakes and drop my drink because I almost ran over somebody in a black leather jacket in the upper pits ."whoa whoa partner" it was John Force my bike kid stuttered and skipped to a perfect stop and I look up and I say Mr force we had a little conversation about my boss the next day Mr Forrest was paying for all stalkers to feast at the Piggly wiggly in Topeka. I have nothing but good stories and good things to say about all of the people involved with the NHRA tour. I'm 58 years old now and thank you for commenting back to me. I no longer have a street bike I sold my V-Max there's too many people looking at center console screens and not paying attention to ride on the streets anymore in my opinion. I love your zest and appeal for cycle drag racing . Maybe you could do an interview with racers for Christ sometime.🏁🏁

A throttle thumb and 3-point stance is definitely different from a stock, THC foot-shifting motorcycle on 2 wheels…..different skill set, with balancing on 2 wheels being 1 major factor……different strokes for different folks. The only thing that interests me is the engineering of the unlimited/open class to see The power being made by custom manifolds and one-off billet pieces; each engine is unique to everyone else’s…….
