There's a lot of greatness in this video (in MANY senses of the word) but besides the 5.50 pass, one of my favorite clips that is in this video, is Larry putting his hand up to figure out what's going on see if he needs to shut off or go on a single before he gets too much heat in the clutch or loses too much fuel and once it gets the word for a single slaps his hand back on and nails it like nothing ever happened! If that doesn't show SOME SERIOUS SKILL, I don't know what doesn't! 🤘🏻😊

God I still cannot get over that 550! I get goosebumps every time I watch it and see a perfect run and the excitement of those guys dedicating their life to racing like they do! Hell I have no problem saying that that HAD to have been like a spiritual experience for all involved, hell it is for me just watching and being involved in drag racing! Just absolutely incredible and it makes me giddy like a little kid like w/ a cheeky smile I can't wipe off my face! :-)

They used to back about 20 years ago. I saw top fuel motorcycles for the first time at the US nationals in Indianapolis. Elmer Trett and Larry McBride would make exhibition passes. They put on one hell of a show!

It would be cool, but Harley bought the Bike Pro Stock Series years ago and this bike would take some of the luster from HD domination since they get billet engines and close to a 1000cc advantage. I realize this is a Nitro Bike though.

@@mikeskidmore6754 Actually Mike he wasn't part of her crew. I worked with a couple cars from 2014 to 2017 when she was working with Kalitta motorsports sponsored by Patron. Jesse would be hanging around lending moral support but made no tuning calls (and respectfully he didn't have the knowledge of doing so for a Fuel Funny Car) nor worked on it. The reality is when you have 8 or 9 regular crewmen all versed at doing their particular jobs efficiently the last thing you want is someone jumping in and "helping". That is the quickest way to screw something up and create a dangerous situation. He may have helped her pack the chute on occasion but that would have been about it. There were times I dropped in to see Tommy (her crew chief) and Jesse would be there but not in a working capacity. He seems like a nice enough guy and always said "hi"or "hey hows it going" but I think his true forte is motorcycles.

i dont know but they needed to put more air in it if you look at the rubber it laid the center no mark on track and dark marks on outside the center is not making hard contact to track not enough air plus it would roll easier with more air it would definately be faster and quicker with a few more lbs in it

chilly dog NHRA must be happy with the stands not being full, don't see them doing any promotion or anything else to change it. Rt 66 is always half full, US Nationals decline from the 80's thru now is truly sad, all started when they raised parking 100%, never saw a good crowd after that. This sport is crying for leadership to put it were it belongs in the upper tier of sports, but as long as NHRA corporate is well fed, nothing will ever change.

There is no such thing as a Harley Davidson Top Fuel Motorcycle .. They are all Custom built chassis with Vance and Hines or S&S Motors.. not one HD part on them and Indian built a common crank V-Twin Engine two years before HD did ..

@@FarmerFpv Jealousy Not at all I'm freakin impressed Don't know where you get jealousy - I've tried the make your own fender out of flat sheet aluminum after the rosebud torch to anneal , the pound and stretch on a sandbag then roller the surface smooth ,then try to tigweld the perfect roll of dimes thing etc It's not easy , takes a steady hand and patience AND the experience to know how to tweak your weld settings . Built a Lotus Seven Kitcar - 55 and I still marvel at someone who can produce a weldbead by hand like a CNC welder (I assume you're aware what CNC means) We met Jessie a couple times in Austin couple years apart , pretty nice guy first time was at a convenience store Saw him pay for the guys snacks in front of him who was short a couple bucks no questions asked , he told the guy "I've been there" ...They chatted, they walked away ... Like the other guy stated If you've only met him through your TV screen or National Enquirer while sitting on the can then your opinion is pretty much just like the two million friends you have on facebook - It's all cyber and public drama created to make you watch the show ,buy a rag, or click on a site to generate income for the persons website . Met Foose once at the Oakland Roadster Show heading to the parking lot by himself . Asked about the super fast turn around cars on his show and real honest like told us the ups and downs yadda yadda yadda wasn't annoyed with the question Im sure he heard thousand times before Good guy .... Saw Arlen Ness all the time in Dublin at the Athens Burger place ..same thing personable guy stories to tell if you politely approached . Now on the other hand the actors actresses singers sports figures etc different story Saw one demand a table with the "Do You Know Who I Am Attitude " those people I can do without and they REALLY ARE that way .
