Super fun video! It reminded us of our trip up Mt. Washington 20+ years ago in a rental car. The weather on your trip was better than ours. Just one small footnote: Mt. Mitchell, NC is the tallest mountain East of the Mississippi. It only beats Mt. Washington by a couple of hundred feet. ;) Take care and keep sharing videos!

I used to hike Mt. Washington as a teenager. I stayed at the Lake of the Clouds hut you showed in the video. Now I have rode up the auto road some 7 times on the first day of bike week each year. Its an awesome ride. Everyone should do it at least once.

We rode up Mt Washington a few years ago and enjoyed it immensely BUT, when we got to the top and pulled straight in the parking area, I couldn't back my Chieftain up because of the large gravel! LOL! A bunch of guys were laughing their a$$es off when I pulled in and immediately came over and asked me to try to back up. Needless to say, they offered their help and pushed me back so I could back in.
@NHlocal2 жыл бұрын
Words and video don't begin to describe how breathtaking the views are..... and the ride down is exactly what you said, sketchy! 😳 Going down over the gravel section is absolutely not for the "faint of heart". I am a New Hampsha' native, born and raised. I have taken my bike up for the last couple years and definitely plan to go at least once this year, hopefully with both of my brothers. My older brother and I rode up last year the day after you did. It was almost the same weather conditions just "a bit" colder(39° at the summit with 40mph winds) but the sun was out and the views were well worth the drive. It's a rare day on Mt. Washington to get views like that. Thanks for posting up the video and keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤️🏍 Randy

Washington that have from 11 mile to 18 miles of hard switch back road that will make your butt cheeks pucker with 1000’s of feet drop off’s but at least our roads are paved with a center line dividing the lanes. LOL

Mount Mitchell The highest of the group is Mount Mitchell in North Carolina at 6,684 feet (2,037 m), which is the highest point in the United States east of the Mississippi River. The term Appalachian refers to several different regions associated with the mountain range.
