As a long time motocross rider who no longer races I think my next bike will be one of the off-road focused bikes. I'm really liking the CRF250RX and the YZ250FX but I'd love to see a direct comparison between the two bikes.

I have the 2024… 250RX it’s simply amazing… handles like a 125 but has power like a 300-350… even in the soft map the torque is insane… love it

They need the tuner app, another gear and 100 CC's added to the 250 to close some of the distance with KTM group.

CRF250RX needs a 6 SPEED TRANS - is it narrower than the Yamaha YZF250FX ? Like to see a comparison in the 2023 models.

They feel pretty similar since the Honda has a wider tank but the Yamaha is wider just naturally.

The regular 450X has a six speed transmission.

@@cyclenews the RX needs one if it's going to be going up against the Austrian bikes in the worx and scramble world. The X is not as race feeling like the XC.

I completely agree. It’s beyond me why more manufacturers don’t offer a 6 speed in their XC bikes, especially in the 450’s. Out west most people I know would love a 6 speed 450RX type bike.

Another "X" review where nobody mentions the lack of a 6 spd transmission...Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, doesn't matter. You have to buy Austrian if you want a truly wide ratio transmission that can climb a goat trail and still go fast in the desert. At least YZ's actually change their ratios and offer a 6 spd in the 250.

The KTM gearbox is wider .. but actually the Honda sits well on the tarmac as you ride between trails. So what does it matter? The Honda looks better and has easier oil and filter changes than the KTM. It also has far more top end grunt. Im not a young or fast rider … but I do feel A KTM 450 is less exciting. Both great bikes though ! I spent 3 years with a KTM EXC-F450 and now own a 2023 CRF450RX

How often do you use 6th gear?? Not often… Hondas gears are longer … it just works better for all around riding..
