Thanks. Ha we always feel a bit awkward filming when we're not riding, but have tried to do it more in some of our other videos. Thanks for watching

You should try it in Indonesia. Crossing strait Mallaca, cycling around Sumatra island, sailing through Sunda strait to Java, after that you will get to Bali.
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
Yes we are heading to Indonesia at the start of next year. Currently in Cambodia

Note that Java is among the most densely populated parts on the planet. I'd take the train to Yogyakarta and start from there eastwards via the southern cost. You have been warned

Could you have gotten away without camping and cooking gear? What percentage of nights did you camp out?
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by that? We only camped out a few nights in Thailand, probably around 15%, as it was so hot, and was also burning season so we wanted to get inside and escape the smoke. In other places we camp almost all the time

Great video. What month were you in Thailand?
@weridebikesplaces5 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks, glad you enjoyed it! We rode this section in March, which is when it's starting to get really hot. We came back back and rode south in October, which was a much nicer temperature

Wow! Just discovered your channel and subscribed straight away! Lovely videos❤ But they also make me curious. How do you navigate? Use your phone for that too? How do you find these beautiful quit back roads? Anyway, I look forward to your next video!😊 Stay safe and enjoy!
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
Thank you! We navigate using an app called komoot, which is made for bike touring, to find the quietest roads. We are currently in Ho Chi Minh, just finished riding the length of Vietnam, so will be putting together our video from here soon :) Glad your enjoying the videos
@SlowMovingSaddles Жыл бұрын
@@weridebikesplaces thanks for your reply!🙏🏼 Komoot is an app I use on my phone for hiking so I’ll check this option out for bike touring. Thanks for the tip. Vietnam is a nice but quit a busy country as I remember. But most people are friendly and the food is delicious which helps a lot. Hope te see the next video soon😊

This looks incredible. Did the dogs give you any problems?
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
Some of the dogs in the rural areas get a bit barky, but we've learnt that if you stop on your bike and don't give them something to chase they give up pretty quickly

This route is made by Google map or you just modified?
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
We made the route on komoot, by adding in waypoints that we wanted to stop at, and making sure we avoided main roads as much as possible. We almost never use google maps, it's not a very good app for bike touring
@ilanrubinstein6224 Жыл бұрын
I use locus app Kommot is ok for bikepacking off line?
@weridebikesplaces Жыл бұрын
I think you can only download maps for offline use if you pay for the premium version. But I think you can get a free trial to try it out for a month
