my wife is from Da Nang and we'll probably move there when we retire. I love to bicycle and will definitely get a touring bike for retirement, but I'll probably ride Hai Van pass on a motorcycle.

In 1970, I was in an artillery position just up the hill from the old French towers at the top of the Pass. It was beautiful, but could be dangerous at times. There is a lovely white sand beach on DaNang Bay, just below the Pass. I would think about returning some day and building a hotel on top of the mountain and running a cable car down to the beach. The video brought back many memories. Thank you.

Matt you have to sometime just bite the bullet and take a few extra bottles of water with you and take the weight penalty. That looked to be like a very nice road to be riding on to say the least. JaYoe!

for the sake of dude of your friend. downhilling with the bicycle he bought recently won't be good choice due to the fact that he need a more time to get used to the bicycle unconditional to fit to his preference i think..
