Another really good video. I also use Komoot and it has rarely let me down, as long as I make sure it is set to “bike touring” and fitness level to “untrained” which then gives me more realistic timings! To avoid getting those long sections of gravel track, or finding yourself following a tractor trail up the hill through a vineyard (happened to us once) I also now check my Komoot route with Google Street. Largely, if the Google Street van has not been there, then we don’t go there either! It’s not completely foolproof, but it can save some hassle. Thanks again for posting the video.

This is some really good advice, thank you! I like the idea of using Google Street View to see which routes are likely to be more of a challenge than others. Haha, I can relate to your unintentional trip to a vineyard. Komoot definitely beats Google Maps in my view, which brought me over what felt like a mountain straight into a group of wild boar on a previous trip haha 🤣

Another great video. I couldn’t help but smile at your cries of pure joy when you got off the gravel and onto tarmac! Cheers 👍

Shatterroo , and Leemoje , the planes you passed at Chateroux are there for breaking up .there are routes down tot he centre avoiding those hideous main roads , but to be fair , you had to make ground , I would have trained it to be honest as I know the area , and you are not missing much . My camera has a n app , so you can put the camera on your bonce and then check the position on your phone , maybe something similar for yours . Excellent videos , showing real world cycle touring , I found your drone footage stunning . I live in the centre , about 40kms from Limoges , hills? -yeah , one day , we might get mountain bike gears on touring bikes .

Thats good advice thank you! I agree about avoiding the busy roads! A lot of it was caused by me not fully understanding how to use my navigation app at the time haha! Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed the video! I agree about mountain bike gearing, I found this year, a lighter setup made a significant difference in my ability to climb :)

Hi there mate. Just wanted to ask. Did you purchase a electric tyre with your bike. If so what is the legal speed and watts you can have. And by the way have you been stopped by anyone in France such as police. Thanks. Love your videos

On this trip, I had no electrical assistance. I had previously cycled with an ebike and had no issues, however this was a store bought ebike. If the bike meets the legal requirements, then you won't have any issues as EU laws are very supportive of them 🙂 as far as I'm aware the legal limit is 250w and 15.5 mph. The bike can't be throttle driven and has to be pedal assisted. That's from what I can remember anyway.
