@martinkent3333 жыл бұрын
Drivers that come off of the highways suffer from the inability to correctly gauge relative speeds. So they cut cyclists off. Velocitization routinely terrorizes cyclists, but the cycling community obviously must love the terror, or they would publicize the problem. Caused by the inner ear, Velocitization has been a bugbear for the President of Young Drivers of Canada for 35 years. No one listens. OK? Try wearing bright colours. Dark colours make it hard for sunglass wearing drivers, to see you, Ninja.

Yikes. When I ride on roads with two lanes in the direction of travel I tend to take the lane more to dissuade those lane splitters. The lanes aren't wide enough for them to squeeze past at that kind of speed and give you enough space, so you might as well force them to go into the passing lane to get by.
@JohnnyStrides4 жыл бұрын
I guess it's just a matter of preference. I always tend to stay to the side unless safety dictates I take the entire lane. Most drivers are pretty good and leave enough space to pass and nobody passed me within 1 metre which is where I start to feel uncomfortable (although the law states they must give 2).
