Cycling the Caucasus - Georgia and Armenia

We entered Georgia in heavy rain and as we knew from other cyclists that the Caucasus region tends to be wet at times, we were already seeing us being soaked all the time before we finally will arrive in Iran. But the weather changed its mind and after 4 days of rain, Georgia turned into a place of ease and we felt like being back on one of our childhood summer vacations.
Armenia was a bit more intense but it surprised us with the most spectacular landscapes we ever saw.

I've been travelling around Iran several times and I never ever felt than country "dangerous". In fact, to me, persians and kurdish are one of most hospitable societies I ever found around the world. I guess safeness is actually more related to bike travelling than to the people you meet along.

In general yes, but at the time of the video the government was arresting foreign people. Foreign people were required to evacuate immediately. People in general are nice, it’s not the point, but when a government sends the police or the army after you, you’d better run…
