I was researching local gravel rides, found your channel, then realized ya'll had moved to Japan. I used to ride motorcycles all around Nagano and Gunma, it's so lovely.

How cool! It is so beautiful - our motorcycle is still in the US but there are some roads here that would be so fun to drive on

Just discovering your videos now! I am an international student at Kanazawa university, very excited to try the routes around here!! Thank you for your work!

Thanks so much for watching! Hope you're enjoying Kanazawa too :) The riding in this video is a bit far from where we are, but some of the others feature much closer roads/bike paths. I'm a little slow at editing but am working on having more videos out this month :)

haha thanks that's one way to look at it! I hope to have to opportunity to race again while we're in Japan though - we visited the states again and it was great to see family for a bit.

"Finding the shade"Yup! The Japanese summer can be a bit brutal. Great video... as always. Nagano is so beautiful.

Truly! And thanks so much for watching again - it is beautiful, and such a huge prefecture! Hope to be able to explore more of it

Japan is so beautiful! And you've captured it so nicely with excellent narration. This is my favorite cycling in Japan channel. Is there a video explaining why you moved to Japan?
@AnniewhereAndEverywhere6 ай бұрын
It is! And wow thank you for the kind words, that means so much!! I don't have a video explaining why really - I guess the short answer is that Zeb got a job working in the JET Program. But, the longer answer is that we have a podcast that goes into more detail about the why and how and general navigating of life abroad - if you want you can see that here! www.ramblingramsbothams.com/

Great job on your first race! I also had my first every cross country race this past week so a week of firsts for both of us haha. Also oh my god the torii gate in the lake, so pretty! Seemed like the perfect picnic spot and made for some great drone shots. And jeez that uphill at the end, the descent must have been incredible.
@AnniewhereAndEverywhere Жыл бұрын
Congrats!! Cross country mountain biking? That sounds so fun! I hope it went well. And yeah the torii gate was so scenic :) You're right, the descent was a nice treat after the climb! 😅

@@AnniewhereAndEverywhere Thank you but my bad, I worded that poorly. I meant cross country running. I still have nowhere near the courage to do things like mountain biking and bike racing lol.

@@lycanerf6885 No worries! Cross country running is still really cool and challenging - great job!

This looked amazing , great job on the race. Does your go pro record the entire time and you just swap batteries or you just turn it on for certain legs of the route?
@AnniewhereAndEverywhere Жыл бұрын
Thank you! No, we turn it on for certain parts - like if we're coming up to a long descent we'll cut it on, or if there's a nice view we'll press record. I think it would be too much footage to look through otherwise. Battery life is also not great, so I have about 5 or 6 go pro batteries for long weekend trips so I can make it through a full day before recharging at night.
