At 5:25 , it looked like there was a bird that looked like a road runner along side the road. I also, noticed that you purchased " coyote " handle bars at the bike shop. Just an observation of old classic cartoon. Very 😎 clever.

Getting a second wheel set for my Salsa Fargo was the best bike investment I've made. One is set up with 29 x 2.6 (off-road/mud/rock tires) and the other 29 x 42mm (gravel tires). I take both in the car.

You two might want to check out the Schwalbe Thunder Burt. I just put the 29x2.1 on my gravel bike. It's suppose to be a good balance for road & gravel rides. Plus the weight wasn't much more than the 43mm GravelKing SK+ I had on.

Funny I bought my bike at Cycle Quest and I was just down there yesterday! Can I ask where you parked and started from? I got my Camp Pendleton pass but it’ll be pretty long ride from up in Mission Viejo. I rode down to San Onofre this morning but I’m not sure I could ride all the way to San Diego and back. Cheers!
@radbikeadventure3 жыл бұрын
We drove to and parked at the trailhead of the San Luis Rey River Trail (take the 5 to the 76). You could also just ride one way and take the train back. Many folks do this! The wind will be in your favor too : ) Happy cycling out there!

Possibly but I think they do have rules about how big the bikes can be. Not sure how strict they are. Might depend on the day and if the train is crowded.

Edit: 9:35 What a jerk. So frustrating. I once had a car slow down, roll down their window, and yell at me that I was blocking traffic...when they themselves were blocking traffic in order to yell at me. Sigh. Makes me sad. =( Lol. I totally wear socks and flip flops all the time. There's nothing wrong with being a bit nerdy in order to be comfortable. =D Also....when my kid was little, he used to wear socks with his sandals. Not cute socks. Those white crew ones that came half way up his calves. And I'd be all, "Uhm. Sweetie. Want to take your socks off?" And no. No he absolutely did not. And he got mad at me for suggesting it. I guess the nerd doesn't fall too far from the tree. =D

Honestly, I'd rather see the scenery and where your riding, instead of, well you all the time :) I love that part of the country, and I want to see the ocean. So yeah, don't get me wrong but how about my scenery and less you? ;) Good video by the way. It might have been the store policy to wear a mask, but CDC has announced that if you've had your shots, you no longer need to wear a mask. Just thought you should know.
@radbikeadventure3 жыл бұрын
It's a vlog, not the discovery channel ; p eh! but suppose we could in a bit more scenery tis true. As for masks, this was also over a month ago so masks were absolutely required. We also plan to continue to wear masks indoors in public places just to be safe for us and for others. Too many variants out there!
@bathedinshadow3 жыл бұрын
@James Hart Why comment on them wearing masks? Honestly! It's the considerate thing to do. How does this harm you at all? And do you think they're living in an igloo with no access to the constant influx of news on covid? Masks have always been primarily for the protection of others.. not the wearer. That seems to have gotten lost in the battle to convince selfish people to wear them. So even if they are vaccinated, not everybody is for different reasons. It's nearing July and I still wear mine around others. And the fact that I am vaccinated makes me more dangerous in a way. I'd be more likely to be asymptomatic and not even know I have covid. Thus putting people at risk. This new "don't have to wear a mask" policy for the vaccinated is nonsensical and in place as a reward system to encourage people to get vaccinated. Because people are children and need a toy to behave. Just thought you should know. Wear a mask. Wear socks and sandals. Point the camera at the ground if it pleases. None of this harms anybody.
