lots of hydration stops! awesome! will be doing this in July.....
@OldButElectrified Жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, ha, yes hydration was always by water or juice. I hope no one truly believed we refueled with wine and beer only. (Though sometimes we ran out of water and had to stop at the pub - tee hee!). But god point Lee. However, we did find that it was important to maintain a relaxed attitude as we were on holiday and in no rush. Good luck for July, you’ll love it! Don S😊

Stumbled onto your videos. Well done guys great trips. I do similar but on race bikes with 0 gear just a wallet and toothbrush lol. Hope you continue enjoying your trips
@OldButElectrified4 жыл бұрын
Dear Boom, please tell me you shorten the handle on your toothbrush so that it doesn’t weigh you down too much!!! See you on the Tauber Trail later in the year😎

Morning Roland, sorry my reply has been so long in coming, but I seldom trawl back through the (lovely) comments. But yes, please do, Id be most flattered. Fyi Im presently on with rides along rivers Tauber-Main-Rhine in Germany and the Vltava-Labe-Elbe in Czech Republic and Germany. This year we’re riding the Danube. Good luck with the project R. Don S

You have answered my number 1 priority quest....which is, what is the surface like? It appears mostly Asphalt or tarmac with some crushed cinder/gravel. Is that correct? Its just that I'm planning on doing the whole Eurovelo 15 RhineRadWeg on a road bike so I'm a bit concerned about tyre width. Nicely narrated video. Thanks you. Andrew
@OldButElectrified2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew, yes, the route is fine for a road bike (tourer), though I wouldn’t want to try it on a carbon frame bike weighing 2lbs 3ozs and razor blades for tyres (and seat) Don

Hi, I enjoyed your film. At the hotels each night what did you do with your bikes? Did the hotels have safe spots for them or did you have to lock them up outside? I am planning to do a week of riding with my wife and 3 kids this summer.
@OldButElectrified2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, when I booked the hotels I contacted them and let them know we were on a cycling holiday. Bike provision is in a different league there. Always had them inside and safe. Enjoy your trip. Don

Firstly what a great way to spend 15 minutes!!!The scenery was spectacular.Have done some of that journey by train.I want to cycle it now.Out of curiosity what age group were you?If I am correct inmy thought you are very inspiring. Am now going to watch the Dordrecht video.

Hi, thanks for the compliments. We max out at 64 (me) youngest is 52 (I think), but the cycle paths are all flat, smooth and level so 45 ish miles in a day is pretty steady going. Its the evenings drinking sessions when Ray and I struggle to keep up with the girls!!!

Hi I enjoyed a lot your video with nice tips. I am planning to do this route next september. How long did you take? Any general recommendation where to rent a bike? I am flying from Brazil and I guess will easier to rent a bike. Many thanks. Sergio

Olá Sergio, tudo bem ? Você chegou a fazer esse trecho de bicicleta ? Estamos planejando fazer em abril/2025, se você fez gostaria de saber se alugou bicicleta e onde e se tem alguma recomendação em geral. Obrigado
@bikelifebh508724 күн бұрын

Hello, my name is Roland Leppek and like you, I produce videos on cycling that I post on KZbin. Most are vlogs of our bike tours in the US and Europe, but now I’m putting together a video listing many of the longer bike trails in Europe. I love your video of the Rhine Cycle Route and would love to include some short clips/B-roll. May I have your permission to do so? I would be happy to list your contribution in the credits and a link to your video in the description. You can take a look at my work here: @TheBicycleTourists Thank you in advance, Roland Leppek
