My cycle ride in Somerset on the Two Tunnels Greenway from Radstock to the Georgian City of Bath. This is Part 1 as in Part 2, I will be riding through Bath and along the Kennet & Avon Canal and, eventually back to Midford.
View Part 2 here - • Cycling The Two Tunnel...
Music By - Gary Harper, 'Womp Master'
Other tracks from the KZbin music library Artists - 'Run' by Ethan Meixsel, 'Dreaming in 432Hz" by Unicorn Heads, 'Atmospheria' by Francis Preve, 'Please' by Wayne Jones, 'Ferris_Wheel' by Geographer.
Cycling and photography, plus a perfect summers day and I'm having a fab time of exploration. I'm fascinated by our railway heritage and its history and having a book for Christmas on 'Britains Hidden Railways' stoked my enthusiasm and curiosity.
So I set off without the aid of 'Satnag' for the 2.5hr journey to Radstock in Somerset. I was surprised to discover steep hills enroute, (not surprising in Somerset) but this was on cycle route24 not the old railway track. However it joins up with the 'greenway' a couple of miles out of Radstock. As explained in my video, I had to return, get my car and drive to Midford for a restart!
Eventually, I'm on the right track and head off towards Bath!
Equipment used - My daughter-in-laws MTB
GoPro Hero 7 mounted on the bike mostly.
iPhone 7 plus with Filmic Pro App
FujiXT20 + 10-24mm Fujinon lens
Audio via GoPro mic adapter

Just as you came off into that Green Park area...we recorded three songs in a studio to the left (which sadly shut down recently). Google JASMINE LAMPORT..BREATHE, WHY? and STRONG....loved your ride...many thanks. 100% permission to use Jasmine's songs on your vids. Thanks Nigel, Regards, Sonic Foxx Music. P.S. The songs above were written in Midsomer Norton...watch them fly...she is a cracking singer. I co-wrote them with Jasmine.

9:04 The music is by a young lady (no longer with us) called Mira Calix. There's a ted talk given by her on here where she explains what it all about.

Hi, thanks for your comment and info! Yes, I was somewhat flippant regarding the music. Sad to hear though, that she's no longer with us. RIP

Nice video Nigel. I'm from and live in Radstock and there is lots of history around here to do with the coal mines and railways. I've recently built an ebike and came across your video as i want to cycle to bath and after watching your video will do your route out to brassknocker and monkton coombe. Thanks again

@@NigelHarperPhoto Yes I'm only about 15mins walk to the city centre,I've lived here over 50yrs & sadly alot has changed mainly due to the council😕if you have plenty of money or are a student you do well in Bath.Alot of people born here can't afford to live here because it is too dear to buy or rent now.But like you day it is a nice place to look at,with nice views.

The biggest problem in there is oncoming fellow cyclists with no lights, and (like all cyclepaths) people never know whether to pass on the left or the right

Yes, cycle ways/footpaths are never a great mix! It's really the cyclists who need to be considerate . . . and use lights in tunnels. cheers!
