Cycling to Piermont, NY from George Washington Bridge via Henry Hudson Drive (River Road) & Route 9W

I just did this ride this past summer it was fun. All my NY life I’ve never been over in this park but have always watched it from across the river. I can’t wait to go back again next year.

Doing a short tour from Innwood/Marble Hill to Bear Mountain State Park at the end of the month. Still deciding if it’s better to go out and back or make a loop. We just moved to NYC and usually just take the Henry Hudson path around Manhattan or Van Courtland to Yonkers. This video has got me really excited. Thanks

I see that on some parts of your ride there's little or no shoulder. Have you had any problems with the traffic at all or is it generally understood by drivers that its a shared lane? Do you have to ride somewhat fast or do they not mind usually? I'm from NYC and planning on taking this route with some buddies this weekend and want to make sure our trip is safe and enjoyable. Otherwise I guess we can take Henry Hudson Drive which is more for cyclists and runners/hikers. Thanks.

I find that most drivers around 9W are respectful towards cyclists and give them enough space. It’s usually very pleasant riding there.
