Chapeau Lads! I know what the cold is like up on the moors behind Bury & Bolton with the wind flying in off the Irish Sea. Rivington Tea Rooms is my absolute fav cafe round there and their cakes and pastries from their own hen laid eggs are smashing. Mike is a hoot although never sure if he knows it himself. Loved the ending: wrap, rap, bap, snap, shmap To me To you etc. Keep the vids coming.

Thanks Grant, it was bitter cold out there on this ride and the cafe stop was a welcome break to get warmed up. The price of the food was excellent value too which we both commented on. I keep telling Mike to comment on the videos in this section as well so I will pass this on to him next we're out.

Cheers pal, we stayed in the County of Lancashire today which has the red rose for its emblem. If we go the opposite way it takes us to Yorkshire which has the White rose for it's emblem. There was a battle a few hundred years ago in the 1450's over who controlled lands. It was called the battle of the Roses. People still joke about it today as to what side off the boundary you are from.

90 miles ! Chapeau John. It's a relatively local ride for us but never the less a hilly one if we go over the moors back towards Edgworth. Today we took a low level route due to the weather conditions.

It’s 30 seconds away net to the bridge crossing the reservoir 👌 .. also next time of haven’t, when leaving rather than going back via Bolton go up and over sheep house and drop down to the black dog pub that way, tough but a great view … 👌 cracking vids though by you 👌

Another memory lane bike ride this one Daz, lost count how many times I've been in that cafe, winter and summer. If you turn right out of the cafe on sheephouses Rd, you can come out on Belmont Rd. We used to cut through to Edgeworth, then back to Heywood. Thanks Daz, Bill.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
Yes that's right Bill, we normally head in that way via Edgworth and Chapletown near the Strawberry Duck.

Keep up the great vids, as always great in depth knowledge of the rides. Your a credit to KZbin🚴🏼♂️ Where did you purchase the tyre lever from ?? I’ve cycled from Birmingham to Bradford and back in November before and know how cold it can get. Don’t stop what you do as it helps so many people in these difficult times.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much there for some cracking feed feedback Andrew, it's greatly appreciated . The Tyre lever is available in Decathlon and it can be a life saver with tight tyres on cold days in winter and also a big Kudos from me for that ride you did - Birmingham to Bradford in November too !

He went through a spate of getting one every ride for nearly 3 months because he was running performance race tyres in winter Matt. I opt for endurance and robust tyres for my winter riding, the bike weighs about 400g more but if you don't get a puncture you are always moving .

Yes Di, you have hit the nail on the head there about the Black puddings. He has to Google every cafe stop before we set off to see if they do em. You can get them tyre levers from Decathlon too. I need one like that for my Gaitor Skins because they are really tight on my Hope rims.

Boskins is one we use if we're local, it's about 3 miles from the noisy bridge you go over on your Southport route, it's in Tarelton, Roots cafe at Catforth is a proper cycling cafe, just north of Preston, failing that, Light Ash Farm is a few miles north of there, I mostly go to Twin Lakes Velo cafe locally but you've been there once before, that's very local for us
