I am a runner, not a cyclist. But when injury struck, cycling seemed like the most sensible option. Aside from wanting to maintain my fitness, I really wanted to explore the DISCIPLINE needed to start and maintain a new habit. What better way to do this than with a 31 day cycling challenge.
This films charts the ups and downs of my of journey as I cycled more than 800km around the city of Edinburgh over the course of a month.
The route I cycled was always the same and encompassed two laps of the extinct volcano Arthur's Seat in the centre of the city - a total of 25.54 km (or just over 16 miles). The two laps of Arthur's Seat provided over 700 feet of climbing each day ensuring hat the ride provided at least a little bit of a challenge.
Filmed during the UK lockdown, this time on the bike provided me with much needed mental clarity as I used up my state-approved daily exercise allowance.
