How to travel by Train in Italy in 2024? kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipC5Zmimhqygn7M

Don't try to make fun of Trenitalia by saying 8 mins delay are normal in Italy. Amtrak is by far worse than a third world country rail , in case you forgot

Freecia Lounge was outstanding. Took executive class from Milan to Florence, and then from Florence to Rome. Felt like royalty. Sooo worth it !

@GregorBrown Nice trip and thanks for the tip! When I come to Italy next summer, I might just book this for a trip from Rome to Florence! I am curious about the slight difficulty you mentioned with the border to France. I have dual US/Italian citizenship so hopefully I won't have an issue.
@GregorBrown Жыл бұрын
You will really enjoy the train ride and I recommend it as for the Border don't worry I'm just explaining that if it's a slow Crossing and high speed but for your passport you are fine

I've taken Executive Class. Warning: you won't want to get off. I was one of two passengers and we both commented that it was like flying on a private jet.
@GregorBrown Жыл бұрын
Haha, sounds like you had a fabulous experience with TrenItalia's Executive Class! That's the kind of warning travelers love to hear - too comfy to leave the train! Comparing it to flying on a private jet really paints the picture. I guess it's a good problem to have when the journey becomes so enjoyable you don't want it to end. Thanks for sharing your experience, and here's to more 'private jet' train rides in the future! 🚄🥂

I wonder if we will see these Italian trains here in the U.K. via the Channel Tunnel, as we have already seen the German ICE trains visiting London
@GregorBrown8 ай бұрын
It would be interesting to see Italian trains like the Frecciarossa crossing into the UK. The Channel Tunnel could open up more exciting rail connections in the future! 🚄🌍

It might happen. Right now the Frecciarossa makes travels to France up to Paris. 🙂

Great Video, but I noticed a horrible wrap over the Executive section. It looks like the view is blurred or vision is obstructed and that is terrible that they did that.

Dear Gregor, As an international student, I would need to move some heavy luggage, is it allowed to take such a load with me on the train or is there an extra step I need to pay attention to?
@GregorBrown8 ай бұрын
yeah sure, just look around for someone to help you lift it up into the train ;)
@Cr4z33_YT5 ай бұрын
Trenitalia (the Italian train company) wants to introduce extra fees for heavy/extra luggages down the way this year. However I am not sure whether they already applied them or if they cancelled them (Italians weren't too happy when they heard that news).

Question; Is the First class train the same as the Executive class?
@GregorBrown4 ай бұрын
Yes, it is for this train company

Is that 1st class or VIP? Trying to book a ticket from Milan to Florence and it offers, 2nd class, premium, 1st class and VIP.

It was Executive class

Did you tip the 'train guy' who served you? Just wondered the protocol.

you don't tip like that in Europe.

Costco travel package says its "first class" train florence to venice do you think its this executive class?
@GregorBrown Жыл бұрын
No idea on that. Sorry.
@debrawoodrick288911 ай бұрын
You didn't mention validating tickets.
@GregorBrown11 ай бұрын
You're right, Debra. On the high-speed trains in Italy like Italo or Frecciarossa, and in first class where seats are reserved, there's no need to validate tickets. 🇮🇹🚄✨

I traveled on the Executive Class and since it is a carriage fit for a king I was expecting top managers and CEOs, but instead there were children doing homework: being a separate and hyper-safe carriage, parents buy tickets on this carriage for kids traveling alone.

Do you give Gregorio a monetary tip? If so, how much?

No, we don't do that in europe, or most of the world outside the united states. They are just doing their job and they're paid a decent salary.

Questions: I and my husband are visiting Italy in October for the first time. My husband has mobility difficulty and walks very slowly. The travel agent here booked us first class trains between Rome, Florence and Venice with transportation to hotel from train station. I am very worried we might miss the trains due to the husband's mobility if they suddenly change platform numbers, or if I can't find my train on time. - How early you advise people like us to be at station? - Is there anyone to ask at the station about the correct train? - Do we enter the station right away and search for our train or have to validate our tickets? - Can we request a wheelchair at the station with someone to assist us in pushing it to the train? I need your valuable advice please.
@MrEmaplus4 ай бұрын
@@Nada-qe7mj Sudden platform changes, particularly for high speed trains, aren't a thing. If you want to be particularly sure of the train's platform, check the arrivals/departures screens scattered around the station. Make sure to remember the train code/number an you'll be golden: 5min before the train arrives at the station, it gets announced on the speakers both in Italian and English, but before that, it's gonna show up on the screens at least 15 to 20 mins before arrival. Regarding help with the wheelchair, you might want to book the service in advance, for both arrival and departure (it should be free). Yes, you need to validate your tickets, and if you have any kind of doubt just go at the info point at the train station.

What is the best website to pre purchase high speed train tickets for Rome to Florence and Florence to Venice? There are 3 I’ve found I’m confused between: Italiatren vs ItaliaRail vsTrenitalia. Do all sites sell tickets for the high speed train?
