Still blows me away that youtube thinks that the most important thing about tiktok they need to copy is the 1 minute time limit that tiktok got rid of as soon as youtube shorts came out.
@violett8745 ай бұрын
KZbin already has long-form videos that they monitize way better than tiktok. Tiktok wants to compete in that space, so they exclusively added monitization to >1min videos to make the reposted short form content on youtube purposefully inconvenient + move into monetized long form content. If youtube lifts that 1 min cutoff, tiktok is only going to make it inconvenient in another way.

Nice to see shorts coming out! Is there any way to estimate what an elite cyclist's heart would weigh compared to our coke can hearts?

One way to do that was shown in the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ❤

My resting HR is now around 47. I've been recovering from a nerve and back injury and have not done cardio in 2.25 years. When I was in the hospital for the nerve and back issue my resting HR was low 40s. I was an avid cyclist, runner, hiker, and walked everywhere at the time. The doctors did quite a few tests to make sure I was OK, lol. They also had to turn off the alarms because I was relaxed and kept making them go off whenever my HR was below 50.

I love that cyclists basically have evolved to become living bicycle motors. Like "what do you do?" "I power the bicycle my heart stops when I get off."

I vaguely remember Rohin had a shorts channel before this. Perhaps that didn't play as well with KZbin's opaque algorithm as was hoped.

Ahah. This is maybe a wrong impression cuz I've not made the experiment in a controlled way and I'm relying on a smartwatch to measure my heart rate, but I think I do notice that my resting heart rate gets lower in periods when I do a lot of bicycle, and increases a bit after a long period of lazyness.
@johnnyregs23785 ай бұрын
Thats literally just your body being in better cardiovascular conditioning. You'd notice the same thing if you did any form of cardio consistently for a period of time.
@fmdj5 ай бұрын
@@johnnyregs2378 yes thx, I broadly understand the mechanism, I'm just surprised it's so easy to visualise, even at my very modest scale. Cuz when I do exercise, it's never very intensive (but consistent). This all seems to show that even a little bit of efforts can go a long way in terms of health benefits.

Same here. Low resting hard rate = good condition. Higher, bad condition. (Went from 52 to 60 now). Even higher, probably sick

PED's?
@timothyhollmann85715 ай бұрын
That's a cop out, I am 61 yrs old and never taken a PED in my life, yet my resting hr is 42. I believe genetics will usually separate aver from exceptional. You can train your whole life and your # s get better in time, but you will never reach the "freakish # s". M. Indurain was a pretty big cyclist to be able to climb with the much smaller guys. I'm sure that heart anomaly made some diff.

dont leave us hanging..how did big mig get such a low heart rate..was it a huge volume of training, high intensity intervals or both? Ive heard people say HIIT is the best for VO2max, but others say the best stimulus is 60-70% HR because that is when stroke volume is maximised
