Kudos to that guy at 6:00 who came flying over the top and carried enough speed through the turn that he didnt need to pedal until after the next corner. I see you, dude.

The heart beat is a relative measure, individual to a person. It isn’t a metric you can use to compare fitness between athletes. . Some people have a lower heartbeat, but pump more volume of blood with each beat. Others are the opposite of the spectrum. The watts are what you need to watch.

What an effort on that last lap!! Pushing through the wind with zero help. Probably would have been all yours if you went a little bit later but I can imagine that can be very tough to call. You picked your spot and came up a little short on this day. No shame in that. Totally impressive ride and inspiring despite slipping back there at the end. I happened to watch the whole race atop my Peloton bike doing some training and the watts and mph you guys were putting down is humbling. Keep up the excellent work! You’ll get em’ next time ;)

The patience and timing, the output at the end, the speed throughout. I was on the edge of my “saddle” the whole time. This was Fkn brilliant and truly a great view of what we all go through. Absolutely one of the best race POVs I’ve seen in a long time. Seriously, the patience was so amazing. I learned a lot watching this.

Those corners.... those last 3 laps.... incredible. But I was also struck by the dramatic lack of spectators. Mission Crit SF had a much bigger crowd, for example. It's freaking nationals, doesn't anyone want to watch? But incredible racing....

I made it out to this race and there were crazy thunderstorms right up until the start of the race, which ended up being delayed. I think it scared a lot of the spectators off unfortunately.

@@NorCalCycling It was essentially a leadout...that tactic can only work in such a fast paced crit if you attack and come past the front with at least 10kph extra speed and element of surprise...your friend Ryan basically just rode off the front and even Cancellara wouldn't pull that one off, the final 200m are just too fast.
