Thanks Cyd. I also changed the speakers on my C1 but another pre-tinkerer already did the samt and caused some cable issues. What I had to do is to cut out the inner cylinders of the grill because my new speaker were to high. But now everything works and I'm still happy with the sound (which is not the comparable with the Royal Albert Hall though) 🚗🤗🚗

The sound 'system' in these is hardly "high fidelity" and yeah, some people just butcher the wiring trying to make it a bit better.

Just spend the £5 it costs for speaker wire adaptors. It makes the job plug and play!

Great video Cyd! It is almost identical on my Toyota Tacoma (but the stock speaker is embarrassingly worse)

The 2012 - 2014 C1 has Tweeters in the dash (not speakers) and also OEM door speakers. They are all connected via some crossover connectors in which you are unable to simply swap out for better speakers unless you get a new speaker wire harness connected to the HU. If I disconnect the tweeter, the door speaker gets diconnected and if I connect a new door speaker then the tweeter drops out. I ended up putting a new HU in and leaving the OEM speakers in place - I don't have the time, tools and patience to sort it out, nowhere near as simple as the pre-facelift models :(

There are adapters to fit new dash speakers and keeps the wires running through to the door speakers too

You don't get good bass from a 4" speaker on a dashboard because of open baffle system and also sound leakage from the sides. Try using a gasket to close the side leakage. There are also foam baffle from XTC, Boom mat and instal bay.

No, you'll never get much bass from 4 inchers. My Saab has dash speakers too, but it has 6 1/2 inch mid bass units in the doors to provide the wollop. 4 inchers provide little below about 180Hz and the response falls off a cliff at about 120hz. I fitted this sub in my Saab and I'm pretty sure it would suit the C1 down to the ground: kzbin.info/aero/PLOaePmzqZNJ1QqJkSNNdGaXGMlaGvcBY-

Or just crimp some 2mm spades to the end and plug into existing plugs

You're replacing the stock speakers with stock speakers with a logo on them. These do not sound better... lol
