Cyclopean Sanctuary of the Goddess at Palestrina, Italy | Polygonal Stonework & Etruscan Mysteries

Palestrina (Praeneste) is an ancient ruined city in Lazio, Italy, about twenty miles east of Rome. It has been occupied since Etruscan times around 7th - 8th Century BC and has Etruscan burials, as well as huge polygonal walls surrounding the complex, and was part of the 'Latin League'. The walls can still be seen in various parts of the town and resemble those in ancient Peru and Greece. A small Egyptian obelisk was once in place at the site and can be seen in the onsite museum. Palestrina was famed for its Temple of Fortuna connected with the oracle known as the "Praenestine lots" (sortes praenestinae). The remains of the sanctuary still standing today were constructed sometime around 120 BC. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

The tiny blocks aren't polygonal walls, and so the pavement. The first is a classic roman "opus reticulatum". Cheers from Lombardy, Italy (we're living a very difficult moment here, now)

Try to visit Alatri, Arpino, Segni, Ferrentino, Segni, Verola, there you can find huge polygonal or cyclonic walls.

I think they maybe only on the very hard granite blocks like Basalt.

If it were Basalt or other hard granites it would look a lot cleaner and a tighter fitting than this.
