I wish there had been more missions with Arthur and John, same with Arthur and Sadie. I loved the banter between them, and I liked how well they worked together. And you hit the nail on the head with John getting upset with Arthur for taking Jack fishing. It served as a reminder of how John had failed as a father, and I would say a bit of jealousy from John that Abigail turned to Arthur instead of him.

I'd love to see a video about the clashing interpolitics of the Van Der Linde gang, and why the gang probably wouldn't have lasted, even if Dutch's plans worked out. Race relations, clashing waves of feminism and the place a woman has in society, old and new world politics, freedom.

Probably too hasty in my statement with John NOT turning against Hosea, since Hosea was advocating for John in camp interactions to cut himself [John], Abigail and Jack loose from the gang, smarten up and to act like a father to Jack instead of hemming and hawing, acting cold and stand offish to what is ultimately his son and baby mama and go off to live a reformed life instead of continuing to tether himself to the gang.

Imagine how cool it would’ve been if the only single player DLC they made was just the full remake of Red Dead Redemption.
@lai99867 ай бұрын
See, I always look at RDR1 as the book that J Marston wrote in GTAV. It has the basic info, not as much detail and past context and only really is skin deep in terms of exposition (compared to RDR2 and in respect to what we learnt in RDR2) and could be what Jack Marston gathered and wrote about what John did. If RDR1 got a full remaster, this could explain any added details that get added to reference RDR2 characters and events, as it’s actually what happened. Whereas the original RDR1 was just what Jack learnt and was told and wrote about. My head canon anyways.
@lai99867 ай бұрын
(Yes I clearly know the reason it doesn’t reference RDR2 is that it didn’t exist yet, I’m just saying if remastered, it could be used to explain why, hence my headcanon)

I played in this order RDR2=>RDR1, and still John is my favorite from the protagonists duo. He’s a badass mf in the first game, a realistic young man who makes mistakes in the second. I am so glad they didn’t show him as another hard ass character with no character development. In fact even from the beginning we see lots of signs of “rdr1” John, mostly it shows up in the camp dialogues with Dutch. It’s so apparent that John and Dutch have some sort of animosity towards each other. My guess is that girl Heidi McCourt changed John’s perception about Dutch heavily. It’s just Arthur and Hosea (practically two most important members in the gang after the leader himself), they both didn’t get to see the cold blooded evil side of Dutch first hand. John did. RDR2 was primarily about Arthur, but throughout the game it’s about John even excluding Epilogue, which felt like a whole another game. And we see John growing up. RDR2 is a great story about redemption of Arthur, but I’m glad it didn’t destroy the value of the previous protagonist. It’s like, one of the few cases when the two characters are actually 50/50. No one tops another. They’re both amazing. And it’s simply the matter of taste, which one you prefer. I think Morgan is more popular because folks (the current fanbase) played RDR2 and then RDR1, or didn’t play “1” at all, thanks to the lack of PC port (which is not the case anymore). For real, I’m tired of the fans arguing who’s better. This is a rare case when it’s tie. RDR1 Marston = RDR2 Morgan.

If after blackwater they went West instead of East. Did not bother with cornwall's train. The whole story would have ended up drastically different. Why they would retreat East back into civilization instead of West into Open country beyond me. Next thing they could have done to try and correct things is leave Micah in strawberry. He fucked up bad getting arrested. Leave him to it

I could be an outlier here but I didn't like Dutch from the moment I saw him and if I didn't like him when he was in his nice phase, there's no hope for him He seems like the kind of person could put a physical price on your loyalty so that he could weigh the pros and cons of losing it versus making money
