This is why you stand for the flag. For all those families that received a folded one.

Great stuff. I have heard this song many times but this is the first time I understood all the words. The other versions seemed to be well sung and even tho I liked the melody but the words escaped me. Bravo Cynthia.

Is there a more profound, more accurate tribute and more moving words for the fallen? We must never forget the people they left behind who made the sacrifice and continue to pay the ultimate price.

So powerful. Hits you hard in the soul. When the camera pans to all the Vets, and to the graves of the men and women we lost, it’s a feeling no person can describe. It is because of these brave men and women that I have decided to serve. To keep their legacy alive. To protect this great nation. I thank you all for your service. Your sacrifice. It is because of you I have the freedom that I have today. And I freely give up those freedoms to keep this nation free. Thank you again. - Future Sailor Rossi (Ship out date for boot camp is 20200903)

This version is SO MUCH BETTER than that opera-style singer Katherine Jenkins. I can hear each word in this version but not in KJ's version. This is beautiful!

No but why settle for a sub par version when you can have the real deal?

That is your opinion and that is okay but why do you have to turn this into a competition?? Cynthia Ervio is a beautiful singer who doesn't get half of the credit she deserves.
@noluv16613 жыл бұрын
Well you are entitiled to your opinion. Here's mine, Katherine's voice is very beautiful but classical singing is not for me. Her vibrato annoyed the hell out of me. I find Cynthia's singing and voice more fitting for this song. The lightness of her tone is just right for the song. Her utilization of her mix voice is on point, not to mention the effortless transitions between registers, and that E5 she did at the end is very sublime. Katherine has her classical techniques too which is very hard to master and requires many years to perfect. But it ain't for my ears.

Who sings it better....with respect, i think you've missed the point of this song being performed entirely. Peace
