Cynthia, I am 70 years old, and have been working on the ukulele for about 6 months. Keeping my mind working hard. Checked out many of the youtube tutorials. You are by far the clearest teacher. I will watch everything you have and want to thank you for all your hard work.

If anyone here is trying to play the Cat Power version of the song (I feel like it's more popular than the original these days), then you just play the first 4 chords over and over. Great vid btw!

I bought my ukulele May 3rd for myself for my birthday on May 7th. I searched KZbin for an ukulele tutorial, and there you were as one of the first options. I have not listened to another person, as you are the most wonderful teacher I could possibly ask for. I played 4 songs for my Poppa as a surprise for Father's Day in June. It was a shock to everyone! My niece plays and my Grandfather did too. He would have been so proud. I spend every day with you for about an hour and enjoy your concise easy to learn teaching skills, and your lovely, kind demeanor. Thank you so very much for all you do. You mean the world to me.

Hey Cynthia, you are amazing! In such a short time, I have come a long way thanks to you. You break down everything in such an easy way, and I am getting immediate gratification. Can I add a suggestion? I can work through a lot of your pieces, but I have trouble getting to your tempo. Obviously that means practice on my part. Sometimes At the end of the lesson, can you add a half tempo run through. This way we can work on that with you, then go back to the beginning for full speed. If it is too much, no worries, you have done enough already!!!!! Thanks for everything!!!!,

There's this song that I've heard finger picked on the ukulele called River Flows in You. I've heard somebody make some very beautiful lyrics for the Twilight movie that goes with this song and it's absolutely beautiful and I so want to learn how to play the song on my ukulele. But I've only been playing the ukulele for a few months and I haven't been able to find any good tutorials that really breaks down the song and shows me one pattern at a time because it's one thing to just read the tabs but it's another when you don't know the exact Rhythm to the song and you need someone that already knows it well to teach you. I hope that maybe in the future you can give us a ukulele tutorial for River Flows In You. I know that I would greatly appreciate it. I truly do enjoy your ukulele tutorials. I've learned a lot in the past six months I've been playing. And I keep getting better and better thanks to all of you ukulele teachers out there.

hi, I have struggled for a while with the shifts from one chord to another. Your way of identifying the pivot finger is great and I haven't seen that done on other people's instruction. Thanks! Which one of your video's would be good for the Em chord? Switching from almost any other position seems to be a hunting exercise. I know that it can come from many other positions but let's start somewhere. lol Can't wait to practice this song. Singing it maybe another person's job as I am more of a baritone and a little flat. You have a beautiful voice. thanks again.

+LIKAB055 I started out with a little Soprano too. I soon found, around the My Girl tutorial, that I should probably upgrade to a concert. I picked up a cheap Lanikai from Guitar Center (after testing out a few other options) and have been really happy with it. It has great tone and the quality is just as good, if not better, than some of the others I picked up. $99!!
