Finger picking seems so easy. Can you do some videos on how to apply this to songs. Then I could probably really take off with it. This is different than tabs and strumming.

What an absolutely lovely tutorial! I've been playing the uke for 1.5 months now and ran into this tutorial only last week. While I was primarily focussing on strumming, this opens up so many things with finger picking. Every little detail becomes visible and important. Glad I'm doing this tutorial. Only wish it was longer than 5 days alone!

Hi Kevin, I am doing well playing a little UKE everyday since I've put it beside my bed and believe me I don't get to sleep unless I've spent some time on my UKE. As for the fingerpicking, well it's getting better but I'm still not getting the strings to ring out perfectly. They sound OK when strumming but every single flaw comes out when picking. Help???

This series is very helpful, as was the strumming series. But is there an easier way to do the bl**dy E chord? Unfortunately for a lot of my favourite songs, it's my most comfortable key. I use the capodaster to make it easier, but that's nothing I want to do forever (except for some really bad keys like Ab)

Ah, the ole’ E chord. Quite a challenge on the ukulele. I struggled with it at first as well. Are you currently trying to barre the 4th fret with your ring finger on the top 3 strings and use your index on the 2nd fret - A string? Something I suggest to my private students is to play the top three strings with middle-ring-pinky on the g-c-e strings, and index on the a string - 2nd fret. Hope this makes sense and helps! Let me know how it goes - Kevin

Hi! I don't know if anyone would agree, but it would be easier for me to follow if the diagram was upside down, meaning A is down and G is up..as it is when I look down at my uke, A string is further down from my eyes.. if that makes any sense at all 😁 Cheers

Question. Why for this pattern do you play it T-I-T-I instead of T-I-T-M. I've been trying to to train myself to use my middle finger on the A string, so I'm curious why for this pattern its preferred to use the index finger. Great series. You are a really great teacher.
