Your natural and traditional lifestyle should reverse your diabetes but make the change gradually over several weeks. Give your body time to adapt and keep a close eye on blood glucose levels so you don't hypo. At age 65 my triglyceride/hdl ratio is now 0.3. If your doctor is worried about high LDL you can politely ask him/her to study the evidence provided by Dr Berry, Dr Paul Mason, Dr Malcolm Kendrick, Prof. Tim Noakes, Dr Eric Westman and many more. All the best of health to you.

@@Solo-_-.. - Semantic for sure, the best expression should be controlled, instead of cured. BUT, here comes the but, there are effectively several cases of cure, in the real sense of the word. The real point being, after an entire life hitting against the proverbial wall of sugar poisoning. Expecting to come out of that in pristine condition. All shiny and without any dents after 50 years of constant damage. At minimum is ludicrous! On my personal case due to an entire life of ridiculously bad carb. diet. Now I know that 97% of the "health" problems, I have faced in little more than half a century. Were entirely related to poisoning myself for most of that time! BTW the remaining 3% I attribute to damaged vertebra's, broken bones... So not diet related. ;-)

I made a note awhile back (because I was so angry!) - a physician from Harvard - I believe her name was Fatima Stamford - was on 60 Minutes, and claimed diabetes had nothing to do with diet or exercise, that it was all genetics and disease. Of course - she is sponsored by Novartis, who makes Ozempic! Sadly, she's also a member of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Panel - and 95% of the members on that panel have ties to processed food companies! Anybody want to bet there was an ad for Ozempic during that 60 Minutes episode?

My mother had diabetes. She went to Pritiken clinic and began a diet in complex carbohydrates and very little red meat. No fats other than olive oil. She died of heart attack while continuing insulin at lowest dose because doctors would not take her off, claiming that she might have allergic reaction if she ever had to go back on the insulin. She was 68 years old. I feel she would still be alive if it had not been for modern medicine.

At 42:00 in this video, Cynthia suggests using 140 mg/dL as a peak value that you should never exceed. Of course, the question that remains is how often would you allow yourself to get a spike approaching 140? Would it be once a day? Once a week? Once a month? Once in a blue moon? The correct answer is... are you ready for it... NEVER! In fact, cardiologist Dr. William Davis advocates the "no change" rule. By that he means if your pre-meal blood sugar is a reasonably healthy 90 mg/dL, your post meal value, tested about 1 hour after you started eating, should remain at 90 mg/dL. That is achievable. But to accomplish this, he suggests you limit your net carb consumption to 15 grams or less per meal. And, preferably, your meals are 6 hours apart (which most likely means eating 2 meals per day). And, of course, no snacking between meals. You can now appreciate how far off from optimal some of the advice you hear can be. But a carnivore/ketovore eating style would be one way to achieve the "no change" target successfully.

@@teresasilvers3275 which shows glucose only not the effects of fructose. You need to test fasting INSULIN and track what direction it’s going. Your body compensates for too much sugar by producing more and more and more and more insulin to keep your glucose levels in check. You can do this for years even decades before you break the system and “instantly” get diabetes. In reality this state of hyperinsulinemia is doing damage all along. The healthy level of fasting INSULIN is 2-8, some even say only as high as 6. Over 25 is diabetes but you are doing damage between 8-25.

My friend recently was diagnosed with Type 3c diabetes. I was amazed by the amount of packaging and crap that it incurred, that’s not including all the other meds she was on. I’m a bit worried about intervening and getting her to consider the carnivore or keto diets as she had loads of bits and pieces removed as a result of breast cancer some twenty five years ago, pancreatitis, liver and kidney issues from a history of alcohol abuse (she is now two years off the booze). The problem is she lost loads of weight and her medical advice was to load up on carbs, and manage it with insulin to put on weight. The medical already said they would wash their hands of her if she didn’t take a certain medical intervention, so if she went against their advice because of some KZbin videos, they would abandon her to her fate. So it’s not a good predicament to be in. I started carnivore two weeks ago and already noticing positive results, as well as the expected negative ones as I transition, with the thrupenny bits (liquid bowel movements).

I need to find a pharmacy. Thanks for the reminder. 💡

Some of the unlucky people like me combined binge alcohol drinking, sugar consumption and refined carbohydrates. The damage done in early stages of diabetes can be permanent, and is made worse with alcohol consumption. Luckily my pancreas can still barely make enough insulin to get me by with my current no carbohydrate, no sugars and no alcohol diet.

I followed a starch based diet for almost a year. My A1C was never below 8. My blood sugar was as much as 300 and a few times over 400. I have been doing keto for a couple of months and my average blood sugar has been below 115. It was in the lower 200s on a starch based diet. I also lost 30 pounds in two months without trying. I won’t see my doctor until June and that will be my last visit to him. He never gave any help or advice on how to get rid of my diabetes, he always wanted to push drugs that I refuse to take.

Three weeks of intermittent fasting, low sugar, and low carbs and the numbers were lowered to blood sugar of 129, and triglycerides of 453 - A1C is still 9.1, but I am confident that will be in the normal range in three months. It’s all about the money and keeping you in poor health. Big pharma and the toxic food processing corporations make out like bandits keeping people addicted to crap and dependent on their meds and associated delivery systems. This is why they spin out when people start talking about low carb and carnivore diets, and why they are pushing plant based slop. The globalists who push for cow farts and climate change (there is no CO2 issue causing climate change, it’s all part of a long term cyclic event, way out of human control) and pushing farmers who produce real food, naturally raised protein off their farms, want you fat, sick and stupid , while all the time they want you eating factory produced muck which they make massive profits off and get millions in grant funding to develop.

They are so proud and excited to have just discovered metabolic syndrome (and that it could affect the heart and kidneys-eureka!) that Dr. Berry has talked about for years, but they still view it mainly from the treatment side, with nebulous, unguided asides about prevention. @KismetWLS It went well. As a new patient, we did the whole documentation of health history, weigh-in, height & waist measurements, blood pressure, resting heart rate, and finger stick glucometer reading...it was 88 mg/dl. I showed them my blood lab records from original Dx and then my on-demand A1c from Christmas 2023 and all my daily blood glucose & ketone glucometer readings from Jul 2023 till 5 Feb 2024. The NP...and then the Doc, almost said I could tell, "Why are you here?" but actually asked what I've done to reverse T2D. I told them carnivore/fasting, and they knowingly smiled and proceded to go over the T2D recommendations from the American Diabetes Association, an apparent obligation. I asked them if they were on board with my carnivore way of life, and they politically told me that they have a practice of never stopping a patient from doing what is working for them. The NP took out a red pen and drew big "Xs" over 95% of the ADA handout...all except the meat & fat paragraphs. They were prepared to give me an urinalysis and draw blood to order their normal labs when I pulled out Dr. Ken Berry's Common Sense Labs book and my Word doc list of labs I wanted. The doc patiently went thru each line item on my list and approved 95% of them. The only ones she didn't approve were ones she said as a diabetes office they can't code. I didn't argue, I can order those few myself or get my primary physician to order. A couple of the "extra" labs I requested had to be performed before 10:00 am, so they asked me to return the next morning before 10:00 and the Phlebotomist would draw the blood. They warned that it would be a lot of vials because of the extra I wanted hehehe. The NP showed me how to install the Dexcom G7 I brought in with me and how to navigate the app. I explained that I had to pay almost full price because of the roadblocks the original doctors office and my health insurance put up. The next day, she had worked out the insurance details for a 1 month prescription for the G7 sensors with 7 refills. They made a return appointment for Aug 2024 and told me, "Don't stop, you're doing great." Very satisfying... I like them. I asked for, and they recommended a Keto friendly nutritionist. I may see her for daily macro recommendations? Thanx for asking 😃

well i been eating a balanced diet that these kind of people are against and adding in 1 plus mile of walking a day and i am losing fat and some weight and my diabetes a1c is dropping by a rock. this is from the old age eat less move more. I am eating a mostly whole foods diet. Not a high fat or low carb but a medium carb low fat diet. which these people hate hard core but its working great for me. I am very controlled blood sugars. my sugars have dropped from 200 in the morning to 100 and all I did was add Walkling and start eating low fat high fiber low calorie. been amazing. the one diet fits everyone is bs if you ask me. Sad part is I have been eating maybe 5 times more carbs daily then I ever have in years and I am losing weight and my a1c is going down so its defiantly not carbs are bad for you like they keep preaching at least from me. this morning, I had a banana and a low fat high protein yogurt. SO tastey I been avoiding food like this because of doctors like this and I am healthier than I have been in forever and I am eating normal portions of normal food. meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. best sugars I have had in years. I did carnivore and my sugars just kept going up every morning. so strange with this normal way of eating I am not having headaches dont need to supplement salts etc. society in the past also ate way worse then we do today but never had these issues they had cakes and wierd oils and etc etc. Portion control is a huge issue. move more eat less 100 percent works. I am glad all these things they preach help people but to think its the only way is just nuts. I am logical and I see vegans and carnivore's have the same quality of reversal of diabetes so its not the veggies killing you its the fake processed food. read a label i had to read 100 labels to find a tortillas i use for my lunches cause all the whole wheat bread is so processed it has 0 fiber like wtf. buy high fiber breads if your going to use them at all. I like this doctor but I never have been a do this or else. I am a believer in the Bible and if you read the Bible they ate meat and veggies. Jesus lived off fish and bread. unleven bread un processed bread. the unprocessed is the major change people do not seem to see. that is why all these low processed foods diets work to reverse these diseases.

Our body is a living thing that is always changing in response to its environment. Dis-ease ie improper function, is caused by constant exposure (internally, externally) to anything that causes it an inability to function properly (toxins, lack of nutrients, etc). If the body is exposed to toxins and deplete of proper nutrition it will be at dis-ease, if toxins are removed and proper nutrition is given it will heal. Nothing is ever ‘cured’. That is a deceptive word and totally inaccurate in describing how the body functions. Dis-ease is reversed by removing what is causing the dis-ease, however, dis-ease will return if exposure returns.

Think logically. Use their own advice against them. The ADA has stated... Diet is the largest single modifiable factor in glucose control. They AND the nutrition nannies have stated No other micronutrient impacts glucose levels more than carbohydrate. Simple as for words Carbs in, glucose up. If your glucose isn't where it needs to be, you're eating too many and/or the wrong carbs. They'll try the cholesterol and brain function scare tactics but it's nonsense. Whole grains... Are they truly Whole??? Does the selenium etc etc lower the heart risk more than the glucose spike will raise it? Use their own words and tactics against them. On topic- Cure.... I would say no. A type two diabetic that goes back to their standard diet, will see the same issues return. Cured means that doesn't happen. Corrected IMO is a better term. The medical definition is useless IMO as the definition is too high to begin with and they wait far too long to medically diagnose type two. Very well known and researched that full blown diabetes complications can occur at even very early pre-diabetic hba1c levels. The Hisayama Heart Study being just one example that found that as hba1c rose past 5%, heart and stroke incidents also rose. I'm not cool with being termed cured by drs I've seen when improper eating brings it back and the defining of the term doesn't align with the biology. When we better understand and can fully reverse insulin resistance, THEN we could say- type two can be cured. IMO (Yes, I know- exercise and fasting, but like diet- they must be maintained to maintain the reversal)

I lost 10 lbs. in two weeks eating vegetables and some seafood after my weight got bottomed out on keto/carnivore. Plus, my cholesterol went back to normal with vegetables. Two for the price of one. Also, you don't lose weight because you are eating meat. You lose weight because you stop eating refined carbs and junk food. at the other end of the so-called keto/carnivore diet. That is the biggest ticket item that nobody actually sees. Right before their nose. One more thing, whole food (not refined carbs and junk crap) does not raise your A1C either. Not the way it is described. The fact is when your blood sugar goes up, it then comes back down. So, it averages out low. The actual enemy is two things. 1. Refined carbs and processed crap. 2. Constant eating. I would say between the two, I consider constant eating the number enemy of all problems, the worst of it is keeping your blood sugar up all the time. Not good. ============================ This may rub some folks the wrong way but I will say it anyway. It is not wise to eat meat all the time. A balanced diet is all around the right thing to do. ====================== So, the question is what causes constant eating anyway? Eating for emotional comfort. Not seeing that food is used for getting love. Get a pet instead or the simple solution is to live an attentive and relaxed life. Don't let things stress you out no matter what. Just remember nobody lives forever and THAT IS A FACT.

Making progress and a difference in people's lives with diabetes has to start with the truth. None of the 7+ forms of diabetes except brain tumor caused (insipidous form), has a cure. There are genetic components to type 2 as well. Most diabetics don't produce other elements as well such as the enzyme Amylase which allows carb metabolism, so recommending carbs in diet is simply an obsolete stop gap for insulin dosing. I agree with fasting insulin levels although diabetics already have elevated above 18 labs. Changes can bring remission but if you stop the protocol that brings it you go right back to disease... thus no cure. Some of your suggestions are good but it has to start in truth. Most docs have forgotten their undergrad physiology before they graduate with a doctorate, and they don't take the Oath. Keep in mind that your discussions places a target on the back of those of us with diabetes, just as the U.N. mandate did in 2006, so think about the solution before you speak. I am not on plant based diet, or keto, or paleo, or any other fad or trend diet. I look to physiology and in spite of the worst possible circumstances have kicked butt on diabetes. As a 58+ year Type 1 diabetic in my opinion fallout is resulting from greed. Side effects including environmental are greed supported and induced. It applies to supplements as well, that have been bastardized to the point of toxicity. Much of the confusion people have experienced about the "right" diet has been propagated by the AMA and other industry involvement. A1c is water under the bridge as it shows the past not so much the present. Carbs especially grains are inflammatory = blood sugar rise. Young healthy people giving advice on diabetes is very bad. Docs are uninformed, ADA is 75 years behind the edge. Who you might consider trusting are those of us who are the successful navigators. There aren't many. They aren't Nick Jonas. You are light years ahead of medicine but you are still learning. Keep it up. Ok, here we go again. "Experts" in the field all agree, every single one, on one thing and one thing only. The "Other" experts are full of sh@t and they have the empirical evidence to show it. 1) meds only 2) mediteraenian diet 3) keto diet 4) Atkins diet 5) Paleo diet 6) Carnivore diet 7) vegan diet All swear to the heavens with empirical data to prove it that their diet is "the one". And that the others are crap, that you're going to fall over dead in the next X years if you continue on those and your diabetes will either not go away or return. The problem is, they're probably all correct to a certain point and all wrong to another. In all the studies, there is never 100% agreement.
