My experience of this rig was that it the most inefficient pop rig I've ever used. I used it quite a bit back the day, when it was made by 'Carp R Us' but alongside the hinge stiff, it was no match. We lost quite a few decent fish in this rig. Looking back, if the Carp approaches it side on, it might be ok, but just our experience.

It’s all about on what you feel confident with. Steve has honed his set up to perfection, for what he does and can seriously question it? The proof is in this video. I personally use a multi rig in my solid bags and have confidence in that. Did you use it with the hermit set up?

Probably 2mm or 4mm for a pva bag. I use 2mm as they compact easy and tighter. Hope that helps bud 👍
