Hey you know what happens when people steal from you? You lose whatever personal property they stole. Guess what that means? You'll more than likely have to spend money to replace it and depending on its value depends on how much you have to pay. You know where that money could have gone to? Food, your kids, your home, other bills etc. Wanna know what happens when you have to take money out of the above to replace what you've lost? It pushes you one step closer to not being able to afford it. Last I checked, you needed a home, food, bare necessities, being able to pay your bills etc. to continue to live and survive. So yeah, people say "Property isn't worth taking someone's life" and to that I say "Having one's property taken illegally isn't worth potentially ending up on the street, where you can end up dead or lose your family etc. etc.". That's why you should be able to defend your property and if someone trying to steal it ends up dying while you're defending it, then the onus is on them, not the potential victim being stolen from.
@INoIFearIGaming10 ай бұрын
I can't stand those "property isn't worth someone's life" people. Don't steal from people and you don't have to worry about losing your life for it. I'm a Canadian gun owner & have a restricted permit. I like the idea of guns being a privilege, not a right, but before you start, I know I'm not IN the USA. I think what this guy did was what every *responsible* home owner should be allowed to do. I also know how lethal the AR-15 can be & how it is actually a superb weapon for home defence. I'd prefer to rely on tech to protect my property & the worst I've ever had to deal with here in Atlantic Canada was I had to beat up a pushy salesman who wouldn't take no for an answer at my parents' home just 5 blocks away. That's a great "go me" story for another time. We did have a mass shooting in Nova Scotia a few yrs ago, so we're not immune....but you don't need a weapon in almost any neighborhood south of Montreal (it's the Native areas that are very dangerous - Brandon, Manitoba is our Baltimore). My TLDR point: I would hope that anyone who owns such an incredibly effective weapon like the AR-15 would be as level-headed, well-trained & economical with his aggression - like Mr Willis appears to be, and legislation toward that makes total sense. What concerns me about the unrestricted right to bear arms is, the burglars (if US citizens) are also entitled to AR-15's of their own. Mr Willis knew the whole time, he was in a situation where he might've been deleted - but even a cornered fool knows better when they're looking at the business end of the AR15. Logical restrictions aren't an avalanche toward communism, they're to at least restrict felons from carrying anything, and people under, say, 25 should only have access to lower calibre weapons that are more easily treatable at ER's. Guys who are still out there drinking, clubbing & letting their egoes & emotions drive their decisions - there's an age, though arbitrary, where guys eventually "grow up". Guys old enough & secure enough to respect someone who loses a fight - someone who steps up & loses doesn't deserve any shame whatsoever. But people take it so emotionally, that it's so easy to just go for a trigger. Once you're old enough not to play that game or at least stay away from people who do that type of thing, you're "ready" for the big guns. What age is that? I don't know - but patterns in behavior are worthwhile. Profile people who want the big guns. Some kind of regulation, that's all. Not a bee-line toward disarming everyone, just a little nudge to prove yes, we see what's going on. Someone who'll properly store them but still be able to quickly access them - just no more of this "grab it from dad's gun locker since he hides the key under it".

That's a real Texas man right there. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and moved out three years ago to Denver, Colorado and I've had my work van broken in multiple times and all of my tools stolen. I asked Jefferson county sheriff if it's okay to shoot somebody on my property at night if they're rummaging through my car and he said no. 😂 I miss Texas.
