ANOM the truth behind ANOM wasn't know about and the investigation journalism reports did occur until after law enforcement agencies across the world coordinated operations to go after everyone they had evidence on and as part of the cases against those people, it was revealed their evidence came from ANOM making it publicly known. The FBI agents talked freely with him about it, of course anonymously but those conversations were definitely approved by the FBI knowing he was a journalist. 2 things struck me:- 1) US legal protections (including constitution) only apply on US soil or to US citizens. (Was quite important in the Assange case). This goes right up to extra-legal imprisonment and killing (eg drone strike). 2) Cops (in in liberal democratic countries) are not just interested in pedos & pushers. The McLibel case was corporate enforcement (using UK libel laws) against activists who claimed burgers were bad for you.. UK cops had 2 agents in this little group who spied on all legal discussions and handed details to Ronald McDonald so he could conduct his case better. So often, crime-fighting is just the pretext.

Believe it or not you might actually be better off as a capture enemy combatant than a US citizen. If the Feds get you, that's one thing, but if you are in prison in a state, good luck. Depending on where you are, you might not have any rights. They don't have to obey the Geneva convention or anything like that because their opinion is that their own citizens aren't covered under those protections. All enhanced interrogation techniques are legal fair game, lying, trickery, whatever. They control and monitor all your communications, they can block your lawyer's number on the prison phones, they can prevent you from using the law library until you lose your case because you're only allowed to use it for appeals, which doesn't help you if you don't know the law because there are time limits for appeals and in states like PA you have to make notice of your intent to appeal when the issue comes up in court, they can deny you medical care, if they decide you are suicidal or annoying they can put you in the suicide room where its 40 degrees and you only have a paper dress and a grate in the center of the room to poop and pee in, you're not allowed to use the phone and don't have water in the cell and your food is given to you all smashed together and mixed together in a pile called nutri-loaf. And there's nothing you can do, it's you versus guys with guns and batons and chains and pepper spray, it's your word versus their's, and especially if you are in jail you are just screwed. Even body cameras are useless cause they can just be turned off.

I’d like to add something: even with GPS removed, triangulation is still possible. Your phone pings nearby cell towers to find the closest one with the best connectivity, which can be used to determine your location, since we are on a globe, even without a psychical sim inserted. What’s even more surprising is how many people are willing to run an operating system without compiling it themselves or thoroughly inspecting the code. Who in their right mind would connect their phone to something closed source? Cheers!

In terms of KZbin lectures, this sounded great. I don’t mind the boominess or room bleed. So many lecture series have mics that are super tinny and straight up unlistenable for me. I can’t stand how clicky and sharp some lags and podium mics make voices sound. I’ll take extra room sound anyday

"Bernese German" 🤣🤣🤣 That is really funny and concerning: Funny because in Switzerland "Bernese German" is considered very much down-to-earth, friendly, slow and cosy... ... on the other hand it is crazy that the FBI has developed skills to this accuracy and detailed level to understand one particular dialect of a small country. Hence one must conclude that the FBI has enormous resources to infiltrate and understand the most distant parts of human communication.

most addicts do not want help and only want to continue using so you can't magically treat them all effectively. my country decriminalized drugs and now we have way more addicts and users than ever before. it made problem way worse. it really depends on the culture of the country as something that worked in Amsterdam may not work in another country.

@@aNINETIEZkid I read that Portugal decriminalisation of all drugs was a success, The opioid crisis soon stabilised, and the ensuing years saw dramatic drops in problematic drug use, HIV and hepatitis infection rates, overdose deaths, drug-related crime and incarceration rates. The data behind these changes has been studied and cited as evidence by harm-reduction movements around the globe. If you give the youth anti drug information in school will help even more, there isn't enough drug rehabilitation centres to get help from in Australia, jail dose not stop any one from drug use, drugs are available in prison & prison is were you learn from others in there about criminal activities to do when you get out,
