Hi Bryson. Thank you for your reaction to my country. One correction to the video. We have five ethnic groups, not four. These are Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Armenians, Maronites and Latins, with the first two being the largest ethnic groups. He didn't touch much upon it, but the reason Cyprus is so divided is because of our recent history. As a former British Colony, when we gained our independence, Britain retained those two bases. We gained our Independence in 1960 and in 1963, there was a lot of ethnic violence and conflict. This violence culminated in 1974, when both Greece and Turkey invaded, Greece by attempting a Coup to oust our President and Turkey responding by a full military invasion. Thus the two sides where created by moving the populations and making thousands of people from both sides refugees in our own country, which were living together up until that point (except during the periods of the conflict). Also the terms Greek and Turkish are very loose terms here in Cyprus as forms of ethnic identification. Some people identify solely as Cypriots, others as Greek or Turkish Cypriots and others as Greeks or Turks. The culture of the two communities, is actually pretty similar, apart from language and religion and we have many cultural differences from Greece and Turkey. On a brighter side, Andrew was born and raised in Australia from Cypriot parents and I think he actually visited Cyprus for the first time this year. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them

Hi Bryson! Tertiary Education means post secondary eg: university, college or trade schools. So then obviously Cyprus has a highly educated population. That’s what I thought it meant but I looked it up to be sure. I’m really enjoying your recent videos. Thanks so much! ❤️🇨🇦
